Thanksgiving Warrior 11/21/12

by O'Dell Harmon on Nov 21, 2012 at 01:00 PM

We are all busy working hard here at GI, but this week we get a nice little break between bringing you the best gaming coverage. This Turkey Day we will be busy stuffing our faces with food and our consoles with delicious games. What are your holiday plans? Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Kimberly Wallace: I’m heading back to Chicago for the holiday, and I couldn’t be more excited because I’m seeing my nephew for the first time. He was born on Halloween! Other than spending time with my family, I’m going to try to get some gaming in. I’d love to finally finish Assassin’s Creed III. My brother also got a Wii U, so I have a feeling I’ll be schooling him on it. Have a great holiday everyone!

Andrew Reiner: I'm once again hosting my misfit Thanksgiving. This year I'm expecting 15 to 17 people. In addition to unhealthy feasting, one room is set up for co-op gaming. Another is dedicated to football. To Last year, we poured Coke over the turkey. People loved it. We're doing it again this year. Pouring soda on a turkey makes it better. Seriously. Look it up on the Internet. Hope you all have a great holiday break! And good luck to all the Black Friday shoppers who are braving the crowds!

Joe Juba: I'm still going strong on Lego Lord of the Rings, and hoping to hit 100% on that sometime over the holiday weekend. When that's done, I can finally get back to Assassin's Creed III, which I kind of stalled out on. I want to see what happens in that game, but I'm not willing to just power through the critical path; I like being thorough with the side missions, but that also means that finishing an Assassin's Creed game tends to take me a long time.

O’Dell Harmon: I am going to try catch up on some Adventure Time and Regular Show. Once I’m done with that I will beat Donkey Kong’s Crash Course in Nintendo Land! Along with finishing XCOM and hopefully Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. I might catch a Black Friday deal or two if I’m lucky.

Ben Hanson: I have no idea what I'm going to play this weekend. I'm thinking about checking out the remake of Lufia 2 for the DS from the Game Informer vault, but I might just sit around and wait for my Wii U to arrive. Nintendo Land is a great holiday game.

Jeff Marchiafava: After frantically trying to play every big game over past few weeks for GOTY considerations, I’m going to use Thanksgiving break to lazily play the games that I want to play. That will probably include Halo 4 and Far Cry 3, and maybe a little Minecraft for good measure. I’ll probably jump back into XCOM too, since my universe still needs saving.

Kyle Hilliard: Aside from hanging out with the in-laws and eating way too much food, I'll be playing Wii U exploring the Miiverse and maybe beating the Halo 4 campaign. Every time I turn that game on, I get distracted by multiplayer. Also, Assassin's Creed III.
