Test Chamber – Call of Duty: Black Ops II

It's another November, so that means it's time for another Call of Duty. If you read my review, you know that there are some things I liked about this new installment, and some areas where I thought Treyarch dropped the ball. Most of the changes in Black Ops II revolve around the campaign, so that's the focus of this week's edition of Test Chamber.

Watch below to see Andrew Reiner and myself shoot our way through some early levels in Treyarch's new blockbuster.

  • Sweet, I'm glad you mentioned Jeff Gerstmann and Giantbomb. I love when one place mentions another.

  • people have to admit that this game looks awesome.
  • Call Of Duty soldiers just picked up an acorn...eh SSX wingsuit. These kind of games make me want a brand new Socom game, but Zipper bit the big one :(

  • that elevator part. hahaha. LOLOL.

  • Blarg.
  • Ugh 3 more hours, this game has been sitting on my desk in my office all morning waiting to make love to my PS3 at home...
  • It looks good, just like ever other call of duty. Pass.
  • I think they're using the same font they used in Crysis 2

  • Are you playing this on the easiest difficulty or what? On like 2 or 3 occasions you walked to within 5 feet of someone and they just looked at you for like 3 seconds.

I can see why people like this. For me though a roughly 6 hour campaign (going from Dans review) plus minor multiplayer updates does not constitute a $60 price tag. Even when you add in the zombies mode I just dont see the value.
  • I bought a copy, but I'm test-running my brother's copy before I open it. And right now I'm leaning towards just returning it and putting the cash towards Far Cry.
  • I'm enjoying it so far.

  • Hmm....

  • Dan does a really good job of describing when 1986 is: "Its not as old as world war 2 but its not as new as modern warfare"
  • I love the little ironic "innovation" at the beginning.

Too bad video game journalism doesn't exist , otherwise reviews of this game could have been interesting!

  • Another year, another dootie.

  • Super Soldier protagonists who can take a million bullets and can out maneuver giant Vulcan gun turrets? - Check. Hollywood style scripted cut scenes with "awesome" choreography/special effects? - Check. About to think the player will be introduced with at least something new, like a stealth mechanic, only to be interrupted by a "awesome" Hollywood movie style explosion, that is, once again, scripted, and forced the Super Soldier protagonists to shoot everyone? - Check. Re-skinned version of the same god damn engine since the first Modern Warfare? - Check. It sickens me to think that people buy this over innovative tittles like The Witcher or Darksiders 2, and that games like Star Citizen have to be kickstarted because everyone wants the next Call of Duty sale success.
  • Call of Duty: Full of Gimmicks 2
  • If I sh*t in a paper bag and give it away, I can call it Call of Duty: Crap ops!
  • Call off Duty, these games suck.
  • reiner's back!
