The Wii U made its way into our office today, so we took it out of the box and took a bunch of pictures of it. It was all very exciting.

First things first. Here's the front and the back of the box. Our friendly Nintendo giraffe was on hand to help out.

Here's the side of the box that tells you everything that is included. We got one of the fancy deluxe sets. You will also notice that the included Nintendo Land game comes in an actual case, unlike Wii Sports, which just came in a cardboard sleeve. Cardboard may be too friendly. It was more like stiff paper.

Now we're diving into the innards. It's all very neat and tidy.

You actually get a Nintendo-branded HDMI cable. Exciting!

The power brick on the left is for the console, and the one on the right is for the tablet controller.

That was fun. Let's look at the controllers!

The stylus looks like it may be the same one included with the 3DS XL.

This is a comparison shot for the Wii U Pro controller. I guess I didn't really need to clarify that.

This bundle comes with a charging stand, and a non-charging stand for the tablet controller. The two things up front hold up the Wii U console.

And here's what it looks like when you're done! Throwing away your Wii is optional. You may want to transfer the data over first.
