The lights are on
In our first exclusively junk food-related episode of Replay, we decided to take a look at a couple of 16-bit licensed platformers. For the main segment, we popped in Cool Spot, a 7up-themed game that several of us have fond memories of. Is it actually still good? Well, have any of you bought 7up in the last decade?
Watch below to see Jeff Cork, Ben Reeves, Joe Juba, and myself dive back into the fizzy waters of "the uncola."

I love this game! I used to play it on Genesis a long time ago. They need to make all the old games for Xbox 360. I'd own them all, lol.
3 things. 1: Dr. Pepper, 7up and Squirt are all owned by the same company. 2: 7up isn't completely useless. 7 and 7's are pretty tasty. (7up and Seagram's 7) And 3: You guys should check out Lester the Unlikely for the SNES. Its hilarious, and it will be familiar to the point of making a certain Mudoken look down right suspicious.
This episode was excellent, got some of the biggest laughs out of me in a long time. In particular, Orlando Magic, "fizz 'em", venomous 7-Up, the pyjama mice, and that entire surreal Roulette were all hilarious. If this is the first time the Dan/Reeves/Joe/Jeff lineup has been together then I vote it needs to happen more often.
Side note: in Australia, I believe 7-Up is manufactured and distributed by our Pepsi co., and is probably made using cane sugar rather than corn syrup. Many stores here are importing USA colas, which I've been indulging in regularly (loving the Mtn Dew Voltage), and the differences are huge. I find Aussie Coke much more refreshing than the American version, but our Sprite is kind of bitter. Haven't seen any Sierra Mist yet. Oh yeah, and Dan needs to stop mentioning Fave Reds, because we don't have them here, **BRAAAHHHH**.
Oh my, such a weird and funny episode or Replay. I played neither of these games, but I now feel like I must! And such hate for 7Up, but I have no problem with that at all.
Great Episode guys!
I used to play Cool Spot all the time growing up!! Good times.
I'm surprised people have fond memories of either of those games. They looked to be pretty awful, but still fun to watch.
Chester Cheetah Paws snack! Those were awesome! It's a shame they don't make them anymore.....
