The lights are on
I love Skyrim. Bethesda’s exceptional RPG was my personal 2011 game of the year. After a hundred-plus hours in-game and a year of real time, though, I’ve moved on. Here’s what the DLC the company is teasing can do to convince me to return to the frozen north of Tamriel.
Craft Some New ExperiencesIn what I’m sure is an indication of a deep character flaw, I am an absolute sucker for using crafting to break a game wide open even if it means hours of grinding out skill points over a forge and bellows. Skyrim scratches that itch like none other. My double-enchanted, super-improved dragonscale armor took basically forever to make, but I’m pretty much invulnerable to anything extant in the world with it on. I’d love the chance to make it even more ridiculously imbalanced, or cosmetically unique, or just something new and interesting to craft. Skyrim’s design makes breaking the game great fun, and more of that would be a powerful lure to get me back in.
Explore The PastMuch of Skyrim, particularly the main quest, hammers home the point that some seriously awesome stuff went down in bygone eras, with dragonborn through history waging war against the eternal foe and the twin tragedies of Dwemer and Falmer playing out across centuries to their ultimate conclusion. Let me step into the past and live those epochal moments myself, and I’m back on board.
Dragon MountsSo what if it’s the current rumor? Flying free on your own personal dragon would be incredible. Just think about how much damage you could do to a town that annoys you with the guards’ outmoded ideas about “property ownership” and “not fireballing racist Nords in the face.”
Let Us All InSeriously, guys, a not-insignificant fraction of Skyrim players do it on platforms other than Xbox 360. No offense to the Microsoft crowd, but the rest of us would like to not be treated like second-class citizens this time around.
Xbox 360 Avatar SupportImagine being able to wear your favorite Halo helmet and have a Companion Cube follow you into the darkest of catacombs!
Haha, just kidding. That would be terrible, like everything involving Xbox avatars.
What does DLC have to do to get you back into a game that came out a year ago?
A war with the Aldmeri Diminion, it could only be available after the civil war quest line but still, they are this big therat and are just left out of the equasion, you should also be able to join them. if anything short of that, I would be more thatn happy to shell out $5 for more custumization options for my charachter creation (more tatoos, eye,s hair styles, ect). I also like to see more armor types (Mythril, chainmail, Chitin, and even throw us mages a bone and make Wlklyind stone armor/robes[carries a fortify magika enchantment])
so yeah that is my wish list for DLC for Skyrim
More DLC is really all I need.
I want my character to be a part of the world and not some peon for others to use as their monkey. Perhaps a job set? Build my own business maybe? It sounds weird.. but mindless, tedious micromanagement of something would help change the game a little bit. Everything feels like a damn fetch quest. Everybody wants me to do something for them. OH yeah, bring back the arena. Also, I feel like nothing can harm me in that game, i need some challenge.
I still love this game but wish they would stop *** over the PS3 owners.
Something that expands even more on the great world they have.....that doesn't involve Vampires plz
I'm still having fun with Skyrim, and still haven't explored everything/finished the guilds/DLCs. So another DLC will just be something collecting digital dust. I have waaaay too many games in my backlog right now (Max Payne 3, AC3, GTA IV, Witcher 2, Borderlands 1 and 2, etc.etc.).
Back? I haven't left!
If i could turn into a dragon.
I don't care about DLC for the game! as long as i can spend money on ms points then spend those on skyrim armor for my xbox avatar!!!!!
Some really good ideas here like Dragon mounting. I really just want the dlc on my PS3 though.
Nice dig at the avatars! As an Xbox gamer, I gotta agree that most of the things they're wedged into are pretty terri-bad.
First thing the DLC would have to do is finally be available on my system. I know they're working on the issues with the PS3 but it's been almost a year since the game came out. I just hope that we actually will get to see some DLC for Skyrim and not just be told we're out of luck.
I'm still playing Hearthfire, but I would love some more Daedric quests/weapons. I wish to serve my master, Molag Bal, more!
I'd like a hardcore mode implemented similar to New Vegas, but more "hardcore" if you will. Maybe go back to doing quests like Morrowind (see link: http://i.imgur.com/a5wNf.png), but this would require them to rewrite all of the quests. Maybe for the next game right???
Every time I imagine the other provinces, I just get all like "VALENWOOD HAS GIANT MIGRATORY TREES" and "HAMMERFELL IS A HUGE DESERT" and "THE SUMMERSET ISLES ARE SHROUDED IN MYSTERY, LETS GET RID OF THAT". It makes me start thinking that Skyrim, Cyrodiil, and Morrowind are pretty boring places.
