The lights are on
Among the many highly anticipated releases of this week, came a game with a big name, but not a lot of excitement behind it. Fable: The Journey offers a players a chance to head back to Albion, but with a new control scheme, and a lot of horse riding.
Join Andrew Reiner and Dan Ryckert as they dive into the Kinect controlled horse-riding/magic caasting simulator, and marvel and Dan's memory as he confuses a horse with a motorcycle.

i think i'll go replay 2 and 3 instead
Wow, a game that I was once considering buying a Kinect for... 22 minutes of horse riding, this must be targeted toward 6 year old girls.... I dont Know Andrew gave it a five, I know that there is a small fraction more to this game, but what I tell it is the equivalent to interactive books (you know the one that you can press the buttons for the sound effects?) HA but then again that would probably be more entertaining then the game play.
You know, for some reason, that Area 51 game for the xbox 360 (Blacksite Area 51) was a game I really looked forward too but got really disappointed by it... that and the Turok reboot. I actually enjoyed the Turok reboot though.
its ironic your staring at a horses a$$ the whole time cause im sure you FEEL like a horses a$$ just playing this game lol
Wow, so glad I watched this. I was debating on buying this for my boys but will definitely not. They would be very bored with all the horse riding. Seriously, it was a very dry and uneventful first +20 minsof the game I was really excited to get a Kinect this summer but have yet to enjoy it without frustration :/
Don't listen to the nay sayers Dan! I enjoy every podcast, super replay, replay , etc that you are on. My favorite videos are when you and Reiner are together. Your chemistry (or hatred at times) on the shows make for some funny and epic moments! Keep doing what you are doing! Dan and Reiner are the reasons I visit this site so often.
With neither of the two living up to their potential, I feel like Kinect and Fable deserve one another.
Wow, what a terrible game.
Check out the quick look on GB for a more open minded look at this game. Boom.
Seriously, why would Lionhead ever choose to make a Fable Kinect game over the classic and successful formula they have had for Fable? Maybe Dan is right and Microsoft told them to do it to hype connect, or maybe Fable is just going downhill. I'd like to see a new Fable, though maybe next gen after seeing this monstrosity.
Perhaps he was trying to commit 10-yr old suicide via motorcycle because he had a flash forward to the future of gaming . . . . Fable without business or home purchases and minus a faction system? No thank you. It's like they gutted the game and kept only the contents of the intestines. A back story on Teresa is nifty, but that looks to be about the only saving grace. I feel bad for the team who put it together because the graphics look fabulous - there was clearly a good deal of hard work that went into the aesthetics and that's a pity.
