The lights are on
New Super Mario Bros. U marks the fourth release in the "New" 2D Mario line. A lot of the editors at Game Informer are looking forward to the launch game, but can't help but wonder how well these four games stack up against the first three titles on the NES and Super Mario World. Senior features editor Matt Helgeson and associate editors Dan Ryckert and Tim Turi sat down to talk about the new game for the Wii U and how it compares to other entries in Mario's long and critically-acclaimed career.

I like both old and new
I think the new 2D Mario games are well made, but there's just something that feels right with the old. Super Mario World is the best one, so I compare them all to that.
Classic. Hands down.
Is that good?
Now I want a beer.
I love the awkward endings these videos have. Also... I never noticed that tail on the Mario 3 title screen before... mind is currently blown.
