Watch The Exclusive Trailer For Nintendo Land's Balloon Trip Attraction

While the Wii U launch title Nintendo Land contains attractions centered around more notable franchises like Donkey Kong and Zelda, the latest attraction to be revealed is based on the 1986 NES title Balloon Fight. Largely ignored aside from a sequel on the Game Boy called Balloon Kid, a 3D mini-game in Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, and the game's fantastic music in Super Smash Bros., Nintendo has blown out the neglected game's original Balloon Trip mode into a stand-out game within Nintendo Land. With a graphical style similar to Kirby's Epic Yarn, Balloon Trip Breeze has players swiping the stylus on the GamePad to keep the balloon-strapped Mii aloft and dodging obstacles. While Balloon Trip Breeze is a single-player experience, Nintendo has yet to reveal whether Nintendo Land also contains a Balloon Fight-inspired multiplayer game. Watch the video below to see the game in action.

  • Nintendo Land... Oh god.
  • I'm pretty stoked for Nintendo Land. I'm getting really antsy to get my Wii U. New hardware is always a big deal in my eyes. I'm the idiot that got excited about the Virtual Boy.
  • Looks like it'd be fun.
  • Nintendo.......cmon. Time to move on, create some new ips' instead of resurrecting old ones.
  • If they sell a Wii U package that includes this I'll probably get it. Most of the games I've seen for Nintendo Land seem pretty fun, but I don't know if I want to spend $60 (assuming that is how much the games are) on it
  • Give it up, Ninty.
  • I dont want to complain, but is it simply impossible for Nintendo ITSELF to create a single new IP? Everything is Zelda, Mario (or its affiliates), and/or throwbacks to something.
  • I only hope Nintendo Land is a pack-in title.
  • Ummmm....NOT a system seller....
  • Hey, it uses the music to Balloon Fight. Hip Tanaka is one of the best composers.

  • My goodness this looks awful
  • I want a Nintendo Land in real life.
  • Well, this is probably the closest we'll get to another Balloon Fight game.

  • Balloon Fight? I'm in... I'm SO in...
  • I was a little underwhelmed. I still think there is promise in the Wii U though and anticipate purchasing one.

  • Crude humor?  I'm sorry, but I just can't get excited for this "platform"?

  • There is absolutely no compelling reason to play a simple game like that with two screens. Having to look up to see bigger picture, while down to actually control things. At least on the Donkey Kong example, you can conceive yourself folding the controller in front of you so you would focus near/far as you use the tilt controls. No chance of doing that with touch controls requiring stylus which requires you to put controller in your lap. Are we supposed to hold it and use stylus?
  • That looks truly boring.

  • It looks fun. This a mini game guys. Nobody says it was Nintendo answer to Ground Zeroes...
