See Inside Frostbite 2.0 And What It Means For Army Of Two

One of the more interesting things about Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel is what the development means for the Frostbite 2.0 engine. Visceral Montreal emphasized that adapting DICE's original Battlefield 3 engine to work in the third person was important for the future of Frostbite's use within EA. Watch the video below to have visual effects lead Marc D'Amico show off the destructive capabilities of Frostbite 2.0, explain how the game is built, and talk about how you will see more games from EA incorporate the engine in the future.

  • Destruction brings happiness.
  • i am so looking forward to play this game in march alongside gow ascension

  • This game will tank mark my words just like the last two!
  • I really like the new Frostbite. it's a pretty sweet piece of tech. the games on it now look pretty awesome.

  • It's good to know that the Frostbite 2 engine is this adaptable. Hopefully this new army of two game is better than the others. I haven't played the last two, but from reviews they didn't do that well. Main reason why I didn't pick them up.
  • I have enjoyed the first 2 games in the series but command of the game engine is not an attribute I would give the dev team.
  • Can't wait to play the game!

  • The animations in Battlefield 3 when viewed from a third-person perspective are astonishingly good for a FPS(I'm looking at YOU MW3!!!!).
  • Interesting... this game is looking pretty good.

  • That's cool and I can't wait for this game.

  • I'm excited to see some more work from the Frostbite 2 engine.

  • I hope they really do this game justice. I was excited for the first one, purchased it and was completely disappointed, the single player aspect was so awful looking, and the story just had no edge to it. Once i started play co-op, it became fun. I never purchased the second, just played the demo. I like frostbite, great engine and can be used for some many different types of games. I'll keep an eye out on this one, but it wont be a pre-order.
  • Not ta I hate Xbox , I actually only have an xbox, but why do I always see xbox controllers on the desks in the GI interviews and not ps3 ones?
  • Looks great.

  • Don't give a damn about any Army of Two game and obviously Frostbite 2.0 is awesome.

Mostly watched it to get some insight from a developer.

  • It's pretty obvious that EA is proud of Frostbite 2. They're shoving it into every game of theirs nowadays. I'm almost surprised Crysis 3 isn't going to be on Frostbite 2.
  • He has the SAP image as his background at 1:58.

    What is wrong with me

  • On topic: I really enjoyed getting a more technical interview from him. A lot of interviews tend to be kind of marketing heavy or PR skewed.
  • And they say, modding Tools are to hard to learn!
