How To Unlock Starscream’s Crown In Fall of Cybertron

by Matt Miller on Aug 23, 2012 at 08:20 AM

One of the coolest little secrets in the new Transformers games will make you feel like a king, especially if you love the 80s cartoon.

Anyone currently playing Transformers: Fall of Cybertron should be able to tell by now just how much the developers at High Moon Studios love the fiction they’re exploring. The game is filled with nods to the history of the Transformers storyline, especially the foundational cartoon from the 1980s.

One of the coolest secrets lies hidden away on the level called Starscream’s Betrayal. It’s a secret that’s hard to find if you don’t know where to look, but easy with some simple directions. Follow these six easy steps to reclaim Starscream’s former glory.

Play the opening section of the level as Starscream until you blow up the wall and have a brief fight.

Stand in the doorway/wall opening you created, and look straight ahead to the large central tower ahead.

Transform into your jet form and fly towards the central tower, but veer left to head toward the furthest left objective marker. Continue flying towards the objective until you’re hanging directly over the building that contains the objective marker.

Turn slightly to the right, until you see the view pictured above. Note the distant tower with the small outcropping directly above the aiming reticle. That’s your target.

Fly to the outcropping and turn around to see the opening into a small chamber.

Enter the chamber, and pick up the crown to start a brief cinematic pan of Starscream as he revels in his own coolness.

Congrats! Starscream will keep his crown on for the rest of the level, as a reminder both of his grasp at the Decepticon leadership earlier in the game, as well as an amusing callback to the memorable coronation scene from Transformers: The Movie.
