Super Replay – Cyberia

In June, we played Batman Forever for an episode of Replay. That game had us laughing for a variety of reasons, but it was topped by the Replay Roulette that succeeded it. Featuring seemingly-random scripted deaths, the most stilted control scheme on the planet, and some awkward plot twists, it was a sure-fire candidate for a future Super Replay. Instead of sitting on the idea for long, we threw it into the PlayStation and began recording less than two months later.

Watch below to see the original team from the Roulette (Tim Turi, Jeff Cork, Andrew Reiner, and myself) attempt to conquer a game that's aged even more poorly than we expected.

  • Okay that was an incredible first episode to the Super Replay. I think I will really enjoy this one. I completely lost count on how many times you died Tim!

  • Awwwwwwwww.....YEEAAAHHHH! I was really hoping you guys would do a super replay of this one. Thank you.

  • Fantastic surprise! I would've cast my vote for Sentient, but this one's bound to be just as (awfully) good.

  • YES!!!

  • dude i remember this game

  • They definitely should be playing this on PC. Switching the guns to mouse control makes the flight sections super easy. I loved this game. I was never able to finish it though. Lots of random death happens.
  • Oh my god, I just rewatched the replay this was on yesterday! WEIRD!

  • Are you serious? This is going to be the best SR ever! (Overblood excluded, obv.)

  • This is amazing :D!!!

  • Staff
Someone needs to keep track of Tim's number of deaths.
  • Yes!  This was meant to be.

    Lenny/Mike is a jerk.

  • This is the true successor to Overblood right here. I get the same gleeful enjoyment out of both.
  • Number of deaths in episode one: 34 plus one bonus death

  • Poor Tim. Also, I bet the stamps are gonna pop up again. Probably by Reiner...

  • NOOOOOO!!!!

  • Cyberia seems to have attempted to meld cinematic narrative to the gameplay before there were more seamless evolutions in Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain. The constant checkpoints make the trial and error a lot less frustrating, and progress almost in lock step with scene changes within game.

  • First off, Thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. Looking forward to the next. However I was also hoping the GI crew would pull out an older epic game for the next super replay. I am still waiting for a Castlevania, Mario, or even Ocarina! I bet the viewership would be huge for one of the best Zelda's of all time. However times 2, can't complain. I check everyday for new replays and they never disappoint. Great job and keep'em coming.
  • Guys, you are awesome for doing another Super Replay before Mega Man Legends 2. At first I thought this is Sentient (or whatever it was called) but this is the other terrible game, I hope it doesn't break you.

  • around the 48:40 mark Tim sort of sounds like the teacher from Beavis and Butthead haha

  • AHHHHH hell yes! Sweet surprise!
