The lights are on
You've already read our review of Resident Evil 6, but here's a closer look at the second chapter of Jake Muller's campaign. Watch Jake, the melee dynamo, plow through dudes with his fists and comically slide down an icy mountain pass.
Ben Reeves and Andrew Reiner join in on the video preview to share their differing impressions on the game. Be sure to stop by tomorrow to check out our livestream of Resident Evil 6, complete with awesome prizes.

Judging by this Test Chamber, I know that I’ll be annoyed by several things about the game, like that sliding, but I’m going to get it anyways and will probably like it as much as Tim. Also, that music for Mercenaries mode was awesome! XD
I'm thinking I'll rent this game with the super mixed reviews, but I do trust Tim's review enough and my demo experience to know I can find some enjoyment in there.
The Metacritic rating of this sucks right now. I expected it. Then again, it hasn't released yet, but I'm still not optimistic of the game.
Snagging this tomorrow. Looking forward to it definitely.
That camera renders the game unplayable for me. I'll skip. Again.
Gotta love dat healing system!
I have a high tolerance for missteps in games so as long as the co-op is fun (so far only Ryckert seems to be disappointed in that) I'll enjoy this.
I never thought any of RE games were scary. I played them from the 1st one and on. I thought they were the videogame equivent of B movies (at least at the beggining) I was one of those guys that cried foul at RE4 when it came out, but it turned out to be a great game. The most important aspect and mainstay of the RE franchise is 1) bad voice acting and cheesy dialogue 2) grotesque scenes of violence. And the 3rd one would have been puzzles and trial and error. It seems that has changed from figuring something out to find a key to open a door to QTE's. Also the massive amount of QTEs and custsnes I hear that are in the game will be greatly appreciated by me when my wife is siting down watching me play. becuase she will enjoy watching it. That way I dont have to get up at 5am to play this.
As long as its not broken or boring I am going to love it.
I played the demo for quite a while. I thought it was an awful gaming experience. Just insane amounts of quick time events and even the demo made me tired of cut scenes. Doesn't surprise me the metacritic on this game is at a 70.
That level just looked horrible. You couldn't see where you were going and the whole sliding down the mountain thing... terrible design. I played the demo on my PS3 and got about halfway through Leon's campaign and couldn't take it anymore. I will certainly not be picking this game up anytime in the foreseeable future.
