The lights are on
Sand meets Heart of Darkness in Yager Development's Spec Ops: The Line. If you've played video games for the last 10 years, you probably associate the Spec Ops name with bargain bin throwaways. The Line redefines this troubled series, and emerges as one of the more interesting shooters in recent memory. The big hook is how it injects moral choices into the framework of a standard shooting experience. Matt Bertz and Dan Ryckert joined me for a look at The Line. Rather than starting from the beginning, we jumped into the third level, where a sandstorm tears through a skyscraper, and the battle waged is America versus America – a fight Dan doesn't want to accept.
Check out Matt Bertz's review of Spec Ops: The Line. If you have some time on your hands, sit back, relax, and catch up on Test Chamber episodes at our hub.

this game looks ***, if i wasn't already 100% burned out of shooters i would probably pick this up, the environment looks awesome, especially the sand bits xD
Cool Test Change Reiner! I'm actually really curious to play this game, I'd like to do the developer right by trying it out soon, but I have to beat Dragon's Dogma first! Thanks Dan and Matt for the insight and keep up the excellent Game Informin!
nice episode, spec ops actually looks decent, for once.
Bertz +1 for being inverted. We are a dying breed
This has to many 'overt' references? of course bioshock didn't do that too much...nope...not at all...nope...
This game sounds pretty interesting - spent some effort on the story / it's not as jingoistic as most titles / and the gun play looks fun.
A good look, thanks chaps.
Great video guys. I have been keeping my eye on this for awhile now & this Test Chamber gave me the good look I was hoping for. I think I'll pick this up after I get through some of my backlog.
Got it the other day from MMOGA - can't wait to play it this weekend!
It looks pretty amazing, and isn't one of these "shoot everything untill your out of amo" games~
Sigh, I wish I had money to buy this game.
I have actually enjoyed playing this game so far. It has it's quirks which are mentioned in the GI review but it's a cool game. You definitely can't just run and gun and expect to survive. I ran into a spot where I was completely out of ammo at the beginning of a wave and i just had to keep instructing my team to take out targets. It was cool to play a support role in a campaign for once
This game looks pretty good. I like that Yager is doing something a little risky with the story, and the environments are very detailed.
That looked ok, I still haven't tried the demo. I agree about the weapons, even though I wasn't playing it, they seemed weak.
Cool. Doesn't look half bad. I may have to check this out when its cheaper.
Looks like a solid rent
Really liked how this looked. For some reason shooting games like these really get my attention but won't keep me for long. I would buy this game later on when it goes down. For a game that was bad and not good to just pick up and start out like this is really awesome. Great Test Chamber pick! Really enjoyed watching this and helped me decide my opinion on this game.
why do you guys review games on console when they have a PC version? you're missing out on proper controls and way better graphics, watching you spin around in that really obvious controller type way immensely frustrates me -.- i loved this game, the story is great.
