The lights are on
During the Playstation 2 era, gamers saw the rise of stylish and ultra-violent action games in the vein of Devil May Cry and God of War. While Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage can't touch the quality of those series, Eidos gave the genre a shot early in the days of the Dreamcast. We grabbed it from the vault to see if it holds up today.
Watch below to see Tim Turi, Andrew Reiner, Jeff Cork, and myself dust off the Dreamcast for a look at this manga-inspired bloodbath.

tim turi wasn't in this
What did I just watch? I feel... ashamed.
:'D awesome anime/manga
Thank you I have been asking for this one for a while now! I loved this game back when it came out, havn't played it in years as my dreamcast died. I will have to watch it later tonight as I am too busy atm, but I do so hope you guys show the end boss. I remember some of the enimies being quite over the top!
I love the timing for this, I just watched the new movie and because of that I'm totally tripping out on Berserk all over again. I played the import of this game on PS2 back in the day, but quit halfway since I didn't understand any of the story. Wish I had known that it had been localized on Dreamcast. At any rate, I totally recommend that anyone even remotely interested in the story watch the new Berserk: Golden Age Arc movie. It's basically the first 10 or so episodes of the original anime condensed into a movie with FAR superior medieval battle sequences.
You should try to get the PS2 Berserk game that came out only in Japan, had good cut scenes and better game play.
u guys should replay GLADIUS
Game was freaking brilliant loved it so much on my dreamcast!
Tim seems to be doubling as Jason...
We need a super replay of Stupid Invaders with Dan at the controls! Please make it happen!!!
BERSERK=best thing ever
Whew! I am never eatin' a chili dog again!
I remember Sword of the Berserk (the video game, not the manga). I just bought it because it was so violent. The giant sword clanging off the wall all the time was really annoying. I remember it being really short, too.
Never heard of Stupid Invaders, but I liked the characters. I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I'd probably have watched a show based on them.
Dan, I'm with ya on the Half Life Super Replay, just because I know you haven't beaten it before and you can't really pay attention to NPCs while talking, but c'mon...this roulette was painful. How did you not try keeping your inventory open?
I like when Tim plays games.
Damn, is everyone reviewing this one at the same time?
And an adventure game - hell if you'll see Ubisoft make such a thing today. On one hand, a lot of minivan moms will freak out. On the other... it's not mainstream enough. People would put down their controllers after about two seconds of failure and go play Farmville or some ish.
Hell of a chili dog though. Guess we know Sonic's problem.
Man, I loved this game. It probably hasn't aged great, but I don't think Dan was doing it much justice. Especially at the point of skipping cutscenes and asking what was happening.
