Test Chamber – Diablo III

Our third Test Chamber episode of the week brings you a (mostly) spoiler-free look at Act III of Blizzard's long-awaited action/RPG, Diablo III.

Game Informer's Adam Biessener does his best to answer Jason Oestreicher and my questions without getting his barbarian killed too often. It turns out talking and playing Diablo at the same time leads to hilarity. Adam does a fine job, and shows off just how awesome it is to be a barbarian as he leaps, stomps, and cleaves his way to the Heart of Sin.

  • Looks great, a lot better than I thought it was.

  • I am loving this game...when the servers let me play...

  • Wish I had a PC that could actually run this. Might have to wait to see if they release it for consoles.

  • Barbarian is best class.

  • Ugh please dont give Adam a mic anymore. I thought his writing was pretentious nonsense, but actually hearing him *** my eardrums with his stupid voice is way worse. Why does he do that stupid singy voice all the time? Does he think its funny? What a tool.

Not bashing GI, I think the rest of the crew is awesome. Well, Joe has his moments...

  • I love Test Chamber, thanks for the look! Right now I am working on my first rig to play games like this and Starcraft II (and eventually Guild Wars 2 when it's released). It's a shame about the launch issues, but honestly, who didn't see that coming? What bothers me even more is underlying issue of DRM and separating the day-one ragers from the people who actually have something intelligent to say regarding this issue.

  • Everything I've done in Diablo 3 has been the most enjoyable experience I've had in a long time. Unfortunately those severs are really dampening my enjoyment. Now I'm getting boot every 5-10 minutes. =/

    Error 3007 for me.

(although I joined general chat and managed to play for hours)
  • I refuse to buy this because it doesn't support offline play

  • Talking and playing many games has lead to hilarity.  We love that rule of thumb.

  • Jeez how much did Ubisoft pay you guys these add are Insanee.

  • Cool look at Diablo III, I might pick this up down the road; I have alot of backlog left before I venture into this extensive dungeon crawler. Thanks for the Game Informin!

  • Awesome Test Chamber! I'm just really sad my laptop won't run this game :/
  • Wow that looks great. Some buddies and me played Diablo 2 in Iraq together and had a blast when we could. Maybe one day I will get to play this =)

  • Adam, what are you doing?  You need a stun, man.  Ground stomp or seismic slam takes care of those treasure guys easily.  Just interrupt their portal spell.

Anyway, just finished the game tonight, quite a bit later than the rest of my friends.  I was disappointed with the difficulty as I always thought even normal difficulty would eventually get harder.  I zerged every boss in Act III and IV, just standing in their crap.  Wasn't all that fun.  But I guess that's what the harder difficulties are for!

  • Excellent Test Chamber!  I've seen too much of the opening areas around the beta, but haven't seen anywhere past it until now.  I have this game (looking at the box right now!) and am itching to play it.  The animation and art design are topnotch, and the gameplay is ultra addicting.

  • Such a fun series!! This looks really really good. Will definitely have to pick this up.

  • I consider myself a hardcore gamer, but not Diablo level of hardcore. I'm going to pass on this game.

  • Gonna go ahead and say the ground textures are not that great

  • Good episode, still not convinced this is the type of game for me.  Maybe I'll try it eventually.

  • Never played the previous games, but considering how much hype this is getting, I may get it eventually.
