Super Replay – Half-Life

Earlier this year, we held a tournament that would determine our next Super Replay. Eight Game Informer editors chose a game to fight for, and I landed on the original Half-Life. I beat Ben Reeves in the finals, and earned the right to play through the entirety of this classic for the first time on Super Replay.

Watch below as we step into the shoes of Gordon Freeman during our first Super Replay of a PC game.

I just wanted to point out that when talking about games that ripped off the opening sequence you mentioned Halo, but not Halo 2, which actually has the EXACT same opening sequence where you are riding through a facility on a railcar.

Wow, I am currently unable to view the video, edit my comments, or even load a page in under two full minutes. My internet connection is fine. GameInformer I love ya, but get these videos on youtube faster. Your site is about as fast as a fat kid swimming through molasses.

I remember waiting for this to come out on the dreamcast all those years ago (apparently they already had a strategy guide for it) but it never saw the light of day, and that really blew donkey balls

Dan, you were right, you did try to open the door and it won't work that way. You have to 'use' a scientist to get them to follow you and they'll use the retina scanner. Security guards can also be made to follow you and will shoot enemies. Just 'use' them again to leave them behind. This is one of my favorite games of all time. Really ahead of it's time. Good luck with the platforming in the later levels, though...
