The development of Halo 4 not only marks a slight change in tone and direction for the numbered Halo entries, but 343 Industries is also taking a new approach to the management of Halo's expanded universe. In order to keep the ever-expanding Halo storyline from splintering off in a million different directions, the new Halo team is taking more care to focus and craft side stories for different mediums. Check out the two videos below to learn more.

While visiting 343 Industries to learn about Halo 4, we asked Frank O' Connor about the possibility of future Halo games that aren't in the first-person shooter genre and specifically about the potential of a Halo Wars 2. Watch the video below to hear his answer.

While I enjoyed Halo Wars, it just won't be the same without Ensemble. So I'm not sure I want it....

I don't know about you guys but I never once thought the Halo stories were difficult to understand; I will NEVER understand why people complain about meaty and deep stories and instead prefer dumbed-down, linear, and predictable plots instead. I for one love that they are finally incorporating other aspects of the lore into their games and look forward to intertwining and resonant story arcs within this universe.

EDIT: i am really surprised at how many people enjoyed the first game :/ as far as RTS games go, halo wars isnt very well done. ESPECIALLY when compared to games like starcraft, xcom, etc...
RTS + Console = fail imo. just doesnt work right...

Halo Wars got pretty boring after a few days of playing. If they were to make a second one then they should release it for PC and add space combat as well.

I for one lovd Halo Wars. Traditionally, RTS games on console haven't fared well, critically or commercially. Halo Wars succeeded in breaking this trend, and offering a polished, well rounded experience That anyone could enjoy. Bring on Halo Wars 2. Just give it to us PC gamers too next time around, mkay?
