The Inspirations For Halo 4

Halo 4 will be the first new entry in the series from the freshly-formed studio 343 Industries, but that doesn't mean that the team is approaching the game from a blank slate. Each team member was inspired to join the team and work on the game for their own reasons; inspirations for the new game come from anywhere and everywhere. From a love for Halo: Combat Evolved's co-op, the original Star Wars trilogy, or even real-world science (for more on this topic check out this bonus video), watch the video below to learn more about where 343 Industries is finding the inspiration for their work on Halo 4.

  • I hope 343 can pull this one off, they seem competent.

  • Saying F--ck to his daughter, um, lol?

  • Saying F-ck to his daughter, um, lol?

  • Halo 4, Let's GOOOOO!

  • well hes a great dad

  • That guy swore in front of his daughter Gasp*. But in all seriousness this game is going to be great.

  • Sounds great, I can't wait for this game to release, along with all the other Halo goodies. I can't get me enough Halo. And, was I the only one caught off guard by the senior art director cussing in front of his daughter? O.o
  • did he just say more epicer
  • Who cares if he swore in front of his daughter lol, worris about yourself. Especially if you don't even have kids. The halo cast seems great so far, even with the change in companies. It seems very promising yet. And they look to be making great additions and some changes without destroying the halo way. Thumbs up to them on marketing so far. Great work.

  • will Master Chief swear in front of Cortina in Halo 4?

  • They should put that baby in a Halo trailer.

Want to see what this baby's dad made? Halo 4! Go buy it, now!!

  • I'm really exited for the story of the next series of games!  I'm getting more and more excited for this game.  I hope they show off some more gameplay footage at E3.

  • What a cute little baby!
  • awesome

  • Ben! Some people have been saying that they're sick of Halo 4 videos. But the truth is: The more video content you post about a cover story, the better. That is all I'm going to say. And this month has been awesome. So much good stuff about Halo 4. The more the better, man. Are we clear? Okay.

  • Awesome!

  • I lost interest in Halo after the third installment (mostly because my Xbox crapped out for the final time), and never really had a yearning to go back to the series until now. The more I read/watch on 4, the more excited I get at the potential this game holds. I'm also one of those weird Halo fans who played the game more for the single player experience than the multiplayer.

  • Hopefully that doesn't mean we end up dragging some support character by her arm through the entire game.

  • That looked like the Magnum from Halo 3. That would make sense. On a different note, can anyone tell me why there are mountains and vegetation on the Halo's? If they are just a colossal weapon that destroys all sentient life in the galaxy, why did they make them accommodating to life?
  • Halo 4 is rivaling Halo 2 in terms of hype and preview coverage now. I'm actually pretty pumped for this one; and I haven't been very interested in Halo since that second game. It's ad campaign still sends chills down my spine - that was the first time I remember seeing a game trailer in front of movies. And while 3, ODST and Reach were all fine, they just weren't as "important feeling" enough.

Halo 4 looks like it's going to feel important again. Thank god for the fresh blood and change in developer.
