The Expanding Database Of This Generation's Canceled Games

Update: We've added a few games and corresponding entries to our list of cancelled games. The new items on the list below have an orange star next to them (*), or you can click here to read all the new entries at once. Enjoy! Or don't, because these games will likely never release, so we will probably never get to enjoy them.

---------------------------------------

Sometimes games don't make it to the finish line. Sometimes a game's cancellation is a huge disappointment. Sometimes, we don't even know a game exists until it gets canceled. Other times a game gets canceled so early in development that we never even hear about it (these obviously won't be included on the list). This is our evolving database of all the known games that have been canceled for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, ans Wii. Many of the games on this list haven't received official cancellations, but the evidence points to their disappearance. If they suddenly surface we will be more than happy to remove them from this list. If a game is suddenly canceled, however, you can bet it will show up here.

We want to keep adding to this list as much as possible, so check back time to time. Maybe the the sequel you are most excited about will make the list soon!

  • I absolutely despise Disney Interactive for what they did and who they have become now: Focusing on profits and money making solutions then just doing things because they were fun and creative. When it came to video games, they literally had potential in their hands and they smashed it because of the dollar signs. Disney could lose millions of dollars and still have all the money in the world to bail out every company, bank and program and still remain sufficient. Trust me. Its safe to say that maybe, in today's world, to doubt something should not be a bad thing. We shouldn't have such incredibly unrealistic and high expectations of things. Because, then, with what you get, especially when it is the first time, you savor the moment and the result. Disney had solid selling games with solid ratings. Turok sold 3 million and was a solid shooter game overall. Pure was fun and Split Second was amazing, winning racer of the year of 2010 across several publications and websites for taking the racing genre toward a new step instead of it being win 1st place from point a to point b. . Tron: Evolution was great to. Just the reviewers had this belief that it was going to reinvent this generation of games which led to less then favorable reviews. I personally never expected it to reinvent anything but just to be a solid action-licensed game, to which it was. And pirates: armada of the damned actually sounded amazing. But no, two new dip-s*** directors were hired and they terminated all those studios. We went from those games to something as corny and uninteresting as Disney universe. For the world's leading entertainment company, they suck massive blue whale genitalia now in their interactive dept. I can go on about other things but itll jam this comment section. The ONLY thing they have going now are the amazing Kingdom Hearts games but we and millions of others are still waiting on a KH III and I'd like to play that before I get to old! Maybe somebody will make a solid TRON game based off of the upcoming Tron: Uprising. but I can only hope. Maybe the resignation of Rich Ross from Disney Pictures might actually tell people at Disney to get their stuff together and get their butts back into gaming!
  • You forgot SWBF3, which was being made by Free Radical.
  • There's a couple I have seen that aren't here. Hero and Gorrilla Nation to name a couple. Hero in particular looked really interesting.

  • well some of these did deserve death but it's still sad to see so many games getting canceled that could have been awesome.

  • I played duke so it exist
  • Awwww, not Bonk! XD

  • you guys should add Demonic to that list because that was supposed to be released very early in this generation's cycle and was canceled abruptly and the remnants of the video game were used in grandma's boy.

  • It's too bad about the Gaslight Batman game and the Pirates game - especially when Disney went and released a crappy Tron game.  Sometimes they just don't get it.

  • Whats up with all the using the wrong spelling of words?

  • Aw... Ender's Game by a good Developer would have been cool.

  • Mod

Aww you guys forget Frame City Killer. I remember reserving that lol.

  • Shouldn't that one cancelled Avengers game be on the list? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnaF9PSqER8
  • This is to bad, Gotham by gaslight and the Pirates Armada game looked  promising,oh well now we'll never know.

  • Really disappointed about Faith and a .45. Love those noir style games, and probably the best named game in quite a while.

  • i love how they put duke nukem forever on this

  • Why Tiberium Why? I don't CARE how bad you might have been I still would have played you!

  • So many games... makes me cry a bit inside.
  • When did MechWarrior Online get axed?
  • man i would have loved a dirty harry game :(

  • I thought This is Vegas and Armada of the Damned looked pretty interesting. And I don't know why the Wii was excluded from this list, but I'll add The Grinder, which look like a first person version of HVS' Hunter series. That game had my attention, but it looks like its dead. There was also Project Hammer, from the early Wii sizzle reels.

And what about that game from the original PS3 footage, it was called Eight Days. I thought that one looked cool, though Uncharted eventually became what it looked like Eight Days was going to do
