What We Want From Skyrim DLC

Dragon Mounts
At this year's DICE, Todd Howard teased a number of additions to Skyrim that the team dreamt up during a week of brainstorming. Many of these things will likely never see the light of day, but we couldn't help getting excited by one possibility: dragon mounts.

Sure, being able to ride a dragon would probably ruin the game, and make getting around Skyrim's massive countryside way too easy. We don't care. Most players have already spent a hundred hours exploring the land on foot and use fast travel anyway. Hitching a ride on the back of a dragon would at least keep them in the game world, instead of traveling via a load screen.

Dragon mounts could also require you to capture a dragon before using it for transportation, which could lead to some interesting gameplay scenarios – and be the perfect excuse to revamp dragon combat for something a little less exploitable.

Real Dragon Shouts
Ever since modders added Kinect support to the PC version of Skyrim, we've wanted this to be a real thing. Not only would actually shouting dragon shouts be entertaining, but we'd love to use voice commands to equip spells and weapons without having to open a menu. Bethesda could take another page from BioWare's handbook and add a quick save voice command too. If nothing else, we just want to be able to yell, "Shut up!" at guards who start complaining about their old adventuring-related injuries.

More Hot-Buttoned Abilities
Some folks may think this should be included in an update but we don't care. At this point we'll buy anything in order to have more hot-buttoned abilities. We don't mind if we have to explore to some old Nord ruins and fight a bipedal skeever karate master to uncover the Sacred Power Wheel of Antioch. All we want is to map a couple more abilities to the D-pad. Give us a way to quickly throw on our lockpick-boosting boots or equip a stoneward spell. Scrolling through a crowded quick menu to get from bound sword to steadfast ward takes far too long. Better yet, Bethesda could borrow yet another page from fellow RPG mastermind BioWare and give players the option to equip an ability wheel like in Mass Effect 3.

  • Give me new content like Knights of the Nine, and I will give you all the money I have.

  • Yes to all of this, and I'd like to see cross-over spells also, like a fire and ice storm.  New shouts.  New armor and weapons that have differing qualities instead of just one upping the last rendering the last obsolete and useless.  And new lands to explore.

  • I think they should explore another daedric Realm like shivering isles.

Hermaues Mora's relm would potentially be sweet.

  • Hangtime, I love ya, but I am so glad you don't work for Bethesda.

  • I do not see whats so bad about co-op. If you dont like it, you dont have to play it...no ones going to force you to play co-op. To those who do want co-op then they can get it. Simple as that. Anyway, I know many of my friends who would love to play with each other and me in skyrim. I wouldent mind it either.
  • How about fixing the loading/gameplay glitches (on xbox) that have come with the new update.

  • An Arena would be a great thing to include. Maybe something competitive online with the arena too, I mean it could be difficult to pull off, but it would be cool.

  • A Thalmor war would be pretty awesome. It should take place after the civil war is decided and from there have a pro Thalmor or Pro Empire/Skyrim side, even if you help the Empire win the civil war. Another cool add on would be the return of the Dwarves. It never said they died, just "all vanished." More daedric realms would also be awesome.
  • horse combat with a bow or sword then dragon mounts and shivering isles type of thing.

  • didn't they already have an ability wheel in oblivion?
  • You know how the loading screen sometimes talks about the Falmor and how they want to destroy the surface world? What if they came crawling out of almost every dungeon across skyrim and you had a full fledged war? Or if you could become a "professional" witch/ vampire/ werewolf hunter, in a formally recognized capacity. Either could be cool

  • Two things: I had a great time with the game....but 80 hours was enough. Haven't picked it up since....and if they wait longer than 6 months to release it....I doubt I will buy it. And I don't think I'm alone in this thought.

Second thing...I highly highly highly doubt the co-op suggestion is going to happen.

  • While we're on the topic of Skyrim, has anyone here noticed a major improvement in the smoothness of the game after the most recent patch? I mean, previously combat was rather jerky for me. Now it is really smooth and without those consistent pauses I was having while scrolling through my inventory during combat. One of the notes in the patch's changelog was "memory optimizations" so I'm wondering if this is what they were referring to.

I'm on the 360 version, by the way...
  • I've had this game for 2 months now and have yet to play it. Might get on that soon.

  • Ive put over 170 hours in my one Skyrim save and I have yet to see everything. Increase the level cap and put in Cyrodil and/or Morrowind in. The custom weapons sounds like an amazing concept. Ive been using the same health-draining Glass Sword for 100 hours and the only thing setting it apart from my thousands of other glass swords is the faint red lines.

  • I really wanna see the other regions like cyrodiil and morrowind, and new guilds would be awesome, plus new skill trees/skills. New armor and weps of course, i would also really love to see werewolf and vampires expanded, with more abilities and their own skill trees.

  • Bigger Dragons, I always wanted to see a dragon that could literally carry a city on its back.
  • Honestly i totally o agree on the hot hutton idea remember in morrowind and i think oblivion too you could cycle through your weopons and magic spells simply by pressing X or Y at the same time as the trigger and what ever happened to levitation thqt spell was awesome it aided me in building a pillow tower in Balmora i miss the mindless thefts that led to huge building projects

  • they should add more dragons because I went over a month (Skyrim time) without a dragon in sight. that could be a glitch though so they should fix that if that's the problem. Oh they should also add throwing weapons AND the ability to enchant arrow quivers ie: Deadric arrows of scorching or something like that. For new levels, they should add a large quest line taking you through either the southern mountain range as it is mostly empty or to some of those icebergs out in the sea of ghosts.

  • I know, how about DLC that makes PC owners less pretentious about how they have all these things for "free" (minus the cost of buying a high-end PC)? Maybe it could wipe comments sections of their inane banter about how awesome it is that they don't pay for the DLC that we cavemen have to pay for on our consoles. I'd buy it.
