The lights are on
When Bungie split with Microsoft and parted ways with Halo, not everyone was interested in saying goodbye. Frank O' Connor decided to stay with the Halo universe and serve as the franchise development director for 343 Industries. Since he was heavily involved in the development, we talked to him about how Halo 4's narrative will connect with Halo 3 and how the formation of a new team has affected the tone of the series. Watch the video below to see what he has to say, and feel free to check out this bonus portion of the interview on our YouTube channel in which he talks about the difference in studio cultures between Bungie and 343 Industries.

Reach was the first Halo that I owned. I played the other games, 2 & 3 not all the way through.
I felt it was a masterpiece from Bungie and I hope that 343 doesn't screw up Halo 4.
I have played every single Halo game that has come out. Halo 4 will be brilliant story wise it will be memorable and a blast. Multiplayer is where they seem to be focusing on because if they are making the reclaimer trilogy I hope that this is the last halo game on the current system because there is a big jump in each halo series, but since devs are reaching their max potential with these consoles they need a new system to push new ideas with old IP's. Here is hoping.
Let's see us some of that new forge!
No one said anything about ADS
Either way, I think Halo 4 will be worth having to ccontinue the series, and to serve as proof for the development team switch.
I honestly think 343 is smart. I don't know where people are getting these aiming down sights ideas. If you look in the backround in the Pax interview it's the same halo we all know and love. Halo 3 is important to me because it was my first M-rated game and first FPS so I think that 343 will do something to make us all proud.
Still worried...Still excited!
I might be the only one, but I thought Halo Reach was the best game(play) in the series next to the original so it stands to reason that going on from there would only get better.
I haven't heard one thing that bothers me yet. I'm a huge Halo fan, and I don't expect disappointment here. My biggest criticism is/has been that there is no option to toggle 3rd person perspective, but that is a purely cosmetic gripe on my part and only because I like to see how cool my guy looks while I'm playing, especially since I can customize my Spartan in game. (a feature I hope they keep/use).
I want another map with an elephant, where it's sort of like the mine cart gamemode on TF2.
Aside from that, my only problem with the game thus far is random weapon spawns. Yes, Halo is changing and I would be disappointed if it didn't. But Halo is a classic shooter. I don't mind elements from modern shooters like COD like sprinting, but what truly sets Classics from Modern (or military, if you really prefer that word) shooters is scrambling for weapons. That is honestly the core difference. Yes, you're still doing that even with loadouts, mods, and random weapons, but on Classics a great player knows where all the weapons are.
I suppose that old tactics will fall and new ones will rise, but I think that if they do this wrong they will screw up what makes Halo multiplayer Halo multiplayer.
Oh, and if you guys ever look at RvB for ideas on Multiplayer story, only look at seasons 1-5.
Halo 4's confirmed weapons are AR(Assault Rifle), DMR, BR(Battle Rifle), Sniper, Rocket Laucher, Shotgun, Pistol, Plasma Pistol, Assault Carbine(NEW), and Covenant Carbine(Halo 2 & 3).
wut would u guys say if bungie was makin this game the same way 343 is makin it
ya no1 would say crap
i cant believe this..........honestly join in game progress?!?!?! custom classes.....instant respawn.....and no damn elites in multplayer............ 343 just ruind the entire halo formation over the years and if guys say i dont know wtf im talking about.... read the whole article on halo4 in the recent game informer magazine.. they honestly added a see through walls armor ability. halo 4 will be a heavon for COD fans
This series has been amazing and some are better than others but overall the halo trilogy other than mass effect is my favorite and id hate to see it turned into something that'll make me totally abandon it :/ Like one thing i loved about halo wasit was a shooter that didnt overstep into too much of an arcade/casual type game. I mean i will probably buy the game but whether i play it more than once is the main part..
remember that 343 industries isn't all new. I thought that as well, that they might ruin it, but there are still people that worked for bungie and people from other popular companies as well that are bringing their insight. As long as the storyline is still being followed and[i hope]the elites are still not a threat, it will turn out just as good as the others. Personally, when i get the chance, i am pre-ordering this game.
i for one am really looking forward to this... what i cant understand is why are soooo many of you comparing this to cod??? they are completely separate games that share very little game play.... OoOoOoO load-outs! you know cod wasnt the first to have them right?? anyways people need to stfu with stupid OOOOH hate hate hate because your statements are 100% invalid...why? because the game isn't out yet
