The lights are on
When Bungie split with Microsoft and parted ways with Halo, not everyone was interested in saying goodbye. Frank O' Connor decided to stay with the Halo universe and serve as the franchise development director for 343 Industries. Since he was heavily involved in the development, we talked to him about how Halo 4's narrative will connect with Halo 3 and how the formation of a new team has affected the tone of the series. Watch the video below to see what he has to say, and feel free to check out this bonus portion of the interview on our YouTube channel in which he talks about the difference in studio cultures between Bungie and 343 Industries.

Some things may be different, but Frank O'Conner is right, Bungie would have changed some things about Halo if they had been the ones in charge of this. I trust 343 will keep Halo 4 feeling like Halo, while still making it modern and engaging. Halo is a franchise and series that, at least to true fans, can never be ruined. Even if this game is different, it will still be great. ODST and Reach were different, but still Halo, and still awesome games in their own way. No matter what slight or major changes appear in Halo 4, you can bet on it being one helluva game
Great video. It'll be interesting to see how 343's changes to Halo affect what we know about the games and the universe.
I agree with Frank, after Halo Reach I really think the series needed a breath of fresh air and I look forward to Halo 4. Also I like that sprint is in every loadout now, seem kinda stupid that you need a small box on your lower back to run faster.
wouldn't it make more sense to compare it to Reach? ... halo 3 came out so long ago my god ... but either way i hope h4 rekindles my love for halo ... reach came close, but ultimately i moved on
I'm so stoked about this game!
Reach is one of my all time favorite games. I hated odst.
I've always liked the Halo series and I can't wait until this comes out.
