Assassin's Creed III's Historical Secrets

In a previous video, the team behind Assassin's Creed III discussed the perks of creating a game in a familiar setting. The history of the Revolutionary War is a topic taught in schools around the world, and Ubisoft Montreal is finally allowing players to experience it for themselves. While the wider gaming public might recall a few key figures and battles, Assassin's Creed III writers Corey May and Matt Turner wanted to share some of the lesser known tidbits from history that they may or may not be including in the story for the new game. Check out the video below to learn what stood out about the time period for the men in charge of crafting the narrative for Assassin's Creed III.

If you are a history or language nut, please check out the bonus portion of the interview on our YouTube channel where the writers talk about accurately portraying the accents of the time. Feel free to subscribe to our channel and help spread the word!

  • Wow very informative! I am so excited for this game!

  • oh Ubisoft I just want to tell you that YOU ARE FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love how they always allow the players to rewrite history

  • Dear children of America,

    This is NOT actual history.

    Sincerely,

    History

  • This is all well and good, but what's going on outside of the animus?
  • Still can't wait.  Great video insight onto the history within AC3.

  • Looking forward to playing this!!

  • It's cool that you're interviewing the writers! They're really interesting.

  • Can't wait for AC III.

  • the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrans - thomas jefferson

  • Man, first of all That was a horrible interview. They seemed to stutter too much they didn't know what they were talking about, which made it hard to keep up. And most of it didn't give me any hints about Assassins creed III. They acted like they were winging it and talking about random Revolutionary tidbits. The storyline sounds like a jumbled mess and is making me lose interest.
  • I had heard before that Paul Revere would indeed have shouted "The Redcoats are coming" and not "The British are coming" but I admit the rest about actually not shouting at all and not even making it to Concord was a surprise. I'm actually currently watching the John Adams HBO miniseries right now and it's interesting to see the different relationships and dynamics that existed between famous historical figures like Franklin, Hamiltion, Jefferson, and Washington. Without spoiling the series for anyone who hasn't seen it yet let's just say they didn't always get along....

  • "Give me Liberty, or give me Death." Can't wait!!! Really This game will be epic.

  • Hmm.... George Washington was known for his ability to lead people into hell fighting, not military prowess...

    HOLY ***.

    GEORGE WASHINGTON IS COMMANDER SHEPARD.

  • BTW if Nepollian hadent given us 2 french fleets during the revolutionary war,we most likley would have lost. Also he ordered 10 days of mourning in france to honor Washington.
