Spoiled! The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Some fans argue that Link's recent adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is wrapped in one of the most interesting stories in the franchise's history. Link's more developed relationship with Zelda, a mysterious new antagonist, and a personable rival all coalesce to deliver a narrative and gameplay climax that's worth talking about. Whether you finished the game or don't think you'll get around to it, join us as we discuss the spoiler-tastic conclusion.

Check out the video below to catch Bryan Vore, Kyle Hilliard, and myself as we chat about the latest Zelda on the roof of Game Informer.

  • at least we know that the demon king is actually ganondorfs ancestor they do have the same hair color and same evil plans.Techniclly the reincarnation of demon king/ganondorf gets the triforce of power. So anyways demon king did succeed in getting the trifore but as the ganondorf.
  • still havent played this yet, and i am ashamed. Also, you guys look cold, go inside and play more games

  • Groose is Ganondorf? Who would actually believe something so stupid lol. Not to mention, it would be impossible given the time frame for Ganondorf to exist. Prior to them releasing that timeline, I never believe in the timeline. But the series does have a lore and for a lore standpoint, its impossible for Ganon to exist that early. And Demise roll dodges once, unless your really really slow. He keeps dodging if your slow to do the finishing blow. Also had zero issues with the Ghirahim fight, stab worked perfectly. The stab is how I beat Koloktos.
  • Not watching this until I finish the game. I just finished the first Imprisoned battle. Not too far into the game yet.

  • HaHa love the end, and you guys should write the next zelda game.

  • I actually didn't use the lightning skyward strike thing at all and it made the boss really hard and infuriating but also much more satisfying when I finally killed him. I found out about the lightning strike about a week later when my brother beat the game.

  • Didn't know you could use a skyward lightning strike till I watched this video. I had to counter all of his attacks with shield thrusts until I found an opening. Then I'd get one or two hits it. Might have been harder, but was much more interesting.

  • Really? That sucks! And not that many people care at all for this franchise!!!
  • Not that I didn't appreciate your guys thoughts of the game, but don't you think this feature was a couple months late?

  • Awesome! This is a great game, definitely worth your time. And a perfect score? Even better!

  • Man, I loved Skyward Sword (and still love it), and the ending, especially the fight with Demise, which is the most epic thing that can ever be done at 3 in the morning. One thing I didn't like, though, was how Zelda and Link didn't get any resolution. The entire time after the fight, I was like media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lq9hmgG9VK1qafrh6.jpg

Other than that, one of my favorite Zelda games. Go Pipit!!

  • Well, I don't want to spoil anything, but I definitely agree with Bryan on the ending...

  • Sadly, I don't think they got one of the biggest revelations of the game. Ganon is an incarnation of Demise's hatred. A curse placed on those with the blood of Hylia and the spirit of the Hero. Demise is not Ganon, but Ganon is Demise.
  • These guys really seemed to hold back on their stronger feelings about the game's impact on them as they played. The one guy that says "I loved that game" barely peeps it. What's wrong GameInformer? Scared the Uncharted and CoD fanboys will shun you? HAAAA YOU SAY YOU LIKE A ZELDA GAME. ZELDA'S FOR FAAAGS!!
  • I'm embarrassed to say I beat that game. I grew up with Zelda from the very beginning and it should be as bad ass as Skyrim or something of that caliber. I'm 33 now and can say I've had every console version of Zelda since the original. What happened? I felt like a thirteen year old the whole time I played it. Thanks for being a stupid cartoon with no moving lips (KOO-KWEEEE)seriously. The game should of grown up along with its audience that was there from the very beginning.
  • I...uh...I didn't figure out you could used the skyward strike during the final boss fight.

  • Ben, you were totally right. That is an awesome roof.

  • Demise WAS NOT Ganon.

  • Great stuff guys, I just beat it this past weekend and this helps keep it fresh on my mind.

  • that sucks for people havent played it.
