Super Replay – Mega Man Legends

In 1997, Capcom rolled the dice with the aging Mega Man formula by releasing an open world action game. It infused the blue bomber's new quest with RPG-like progression, an actual story, and a brand new universe. Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune's experiment was a critical success, and the PlayStation title has slid into the hearts of many gamers. We at Game Informer wanted to put our fuzzy memories of MegaMan Volnutt to the test, and present to you the latest Super Replay.

Reaverbots are slain, laughter is chortled, cans are kicked, friendships are tested in this series of earnest, resilient videos chronicling our legendary adventure. Join us for a new episode every other day in what is our longest and most arduous Super Replay to date. You won't regret it.

  • YES!

  • YAY! I've always wanted to see this game in action! Super Replays FTW!

  • This was one of the first games I had on my Playstation, and I played the living sh*t out of it. I was only 7 when this system came out, so me finishing this one was out of the question, but I still loved it to death. Cant wait to dig into this.

Edit: You have no idea how much this episode makes me wish I was there to yell at you guys! I noticed the selling of all your stuff and was just sitting there screaming "NOOOO! I can't sit through all that again!" and then you don't even show us the Zetsaber or any of the new weapons you got! Grr.

Edit; Side Note: I was just thinking back to old games, and I think the ONLY 3D game I loved more than this was Dark Cloud 1&2. I can't to this day think of a game that did challenge, out of combat encounters, and combat so well all in the form of an RPG. (Not withstanding any game by Bioware...) Doing a Replay or Super Replay of that would literally make my life complete.

    DAN STAMP!
    TRAMP STAMP!
    CAN STAMP!
    CANADIAN MEGAMAN!
  • Another Super Replay great! This series has a strong Capcom push behind it characters and stages based on this series appear in a lot of fighting games and Dead Rising.

  • I remember and love this game. You should Replay Muppets Racing for the Ps1. Nice Intro.
  • *salivates* Ooooh, Super Replay. Yeah, baby! **BRAAAHHHH**!
  • Well this instantly turned into a fantastic day!!!

  • TIM, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!! I played the hell out of this game!

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome back super replay!!!!

EDIT: This was awesome. I never played this game before, but it looks like it would warrant a playthrough if I could get my hands on it. Because of you Tim, I ended up being curious about the actual history of Barrell Caskett. Turns out he is Rolls grandpa. The things you learn.

Ben, good job with the Kick The Can DDR remix at the end. First song I ever got A++ on haha.

EDIT 2: So yeah, I am watching it again... curse you GI.

EDIT 3: EPISODE 7: I give you 1 try if you remembered to restock your canteen. Otherwise, 2.

EDIT 4: Episode 10: Why did you sell all your parts?!?! Are you going to beat the final boss with a dinky blaster?! What is going on!!!???!!! Why Tim, WHY!!!!!

EDIT 5: This was fantastic guys! Loved every gosh dern episode of it! I almost cried in the last episode when you mentioned he sounded like a Canadian megaman, then he said Soorry. Greatness guys, and the Overblood group thanks you!
  • I seem to remember voting for you guys to play something awful instead.

Edit: This has inspired me to start playing this again. I've already found so much stuff you guys missed. The vacuum arm makes you get rich quick. Like Canadian Megaman rich.
  • Sweet!  This is the super replay I voted for!  no, wait....

  • Awesome! My week is being readjusted accordingly.

Oh my god. The Dan Stamp is the funniest thing I've heard in probably all of the replays. Pure hilarity!

    Tramp Stamp!
  • Cool, never seen this game before. Good choice not doing the terrible games. Although it was fun to watch you guys struggle in overblood, Super Replay, in my opinion, is about playing the great games from the past, and playing through all of it. Thanks guys.

  • WOOT! I have been anxiously awaiting your next super replay.

Edit: This was an excellent start to this super replay. That montage at the end was pretty amazing.
  • Glad we finally have another Super Replay, but what's going on with the Survival Horror Replay following Overblood?
  • Great choice, guys! Winning!

EDIT: MegaMan Volnutt = Jack Shepard, Barell = John Locke, Roll = Kate Middleton
  • I played the Nintendo 64 port, good times. I liked getting the different armor pieces kind of like Mega Man X.

    Edit: Canadian Mega Man?
  • Mega Man Legends... Okay. Sure.

EDIT: This is better than I expected. Well done.
  • Oh god yes.  This is exactly what I wanted.  I love you Game Informer!

  • Oh, hey! I have the N64 version of this! I really liked it, but my N64 broke, or just isn't working, so I can't play any games.

    I miss Rogue Squadron...
