Replay: Brave Fencer Musashi

Brave Fencer Musashi came with a demo for Final Fantasy VIII when it originally released, which is probably why many picked up the Sqauresoft (this was before it was SquareEnix) action rpg.

Join Jason Oestreicher, Andrew Reiner, Tim Turi, Dan Ryckert, and Jeff Cork as they make fun of characters with weird triangle faces and play a Replay Roulette like not other.

  • A Replay AND Super Replay on the same day!? Best day EVER!
Holy crap I used to play this game all the time!
  • yes! final fantasy 8 is great. I played the crap out of that demo
  • Brave Fencer Musashi was another one of those games that people bought more for the demo than for the included game. It was similar to Tobal No. 1, which had the Final Fantasy VII demo included... and, later, Konami's Zone of the Enders, which had the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo. The good news was that the games were actually pretty good, too, once you were done playing the demos a few times. *Maybe" Tobal No. 1 is the exception, but both Brave Fencer and ZoE were definitely worth playing.
  • It's a Replay miracle! Two in one day!

Btw, I rented this game a few times when it came out.  It was pretty fun, but not amazing enough to buy.

  • Holly cow! One of my absolute favorites!! I forgot about this one. Don't judge me, I was pretty young when this was released.
  • WHO THE HELL IS THIS OESTREICHER!?!
  • One of my favorite PS1 games. When the hell will they put Brave Fencer Musashi on PSN!?

Edit: Dear god, watching you guys trying to figure out how to assimilate skills was painful.
  • I still have this. Sometimes I'm tempted to play it whenever I flip through my games.

  • Loved playing the demo in one of those old demo disks that you could buy at the store. I wonder how much those are going for on Ebay?
  • Yep....exactly why I have NEVER got into Final Fantasy.....BORING combat... even back in the day turn based combat bored me toooo tears....thank goodness we now have western RPGs like Elder Scrolls series and the Mass Effect series! For everyone that hasn't watched...OVERBLOOD 2 SUPER REPLAY IS GREAT!
  • I've always heard about this game but have never seen it. I guess that changes today. After Overblood 2, of course. :P

  • Greatest. Saturday. Ever.

  • Oh my goodness that fusion part was so incredibly frustrating to watch. I've noticed in these Replays that you guys never really read anything that the game is trying to tell you and often end up being completely clueless as to what to do. I love you guys, but things like that really get me frustrated and irk me to no end >.>
  • I bet everyone watched this after they watched Overblood 2 lol
  • FF8 is one of my favorite FF games aside from 12. I have it on ps3 and cannot get pass the 3rd disc! F^%#!

Also, the GF's were way cool until you had to watch them a 100 times or until you fight an enemy with a timer because they took soooo long to finish.

  • Nice work on the audio, the way it faded it and faded out so we could hear the game when people weren't talking was nice. It was also easier to hear the game under the people too.
  • You're on the wrong one. Back to Super Replay

  • Dan that "Wonderful" is from Poke'mon Snap.

  • Now when is the Chocobo racing replay?

  • I've never heard of this but based on the name this is going to be a funny one.
