Quick 15: Trine 2

Three Game Informer editors stumble their way through the excellent new cooperative platformer, all for your entertainment.

We were big fans of the new fantasy game that just released from Frozenbyte and Atlus. While the game is challenging and rewarding when playing alone, you'll have the most fun with the game if you play it with a couple of friends.

To help you decide if the game is for you, we've put together a brief gameplay sequence showing off some of the early levels of the game. Adam Biessener, Ben Reeves, and myself all sit in and share our thoughts as we play the game.

Enjoy the video! And, if you like the game, it's available for download on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and PC right now!

  • Looks very nice.. graphically :P

  • It's great, playing with my bro.

  • The colors in this game are really amazing.

  • The first one was awesome but this one looks amazing. Definitely a must buy in my book. Great video guys.
  • Great video, game looks pretty fun. I'd love to see some more 3-4 person co-op videos, I find them a bit more entertaining than 2 player co-op or competitive multiplayer.

Also, the sound gets delayed somewhere around the cabbage snail. Makes it very confusing to watch the last couple minutes.

  • I was thinking about buying this so I could play with my brother. Wasn't sure if you could only play with two players or if you needed three, one for each character. Since we weren't sure, we decided on Castle Crashers in the end.

  • Mod

I downloaded the demo of this game after reading Miller's positive review and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Your review was spot-on. I got the first Trine through the Humble Indie Bundle, but I'll be sure to get the second one as well after my experience with the demo.

  • Awesome vid guys. I got Trine with the Frozenbyte Humble Indie Bundle and had a blast with it. It was a solid experience and I might pick up this.

Also, Jason, I think the voice over was slightly off. About half way through, the voice over started to lag behind the video.

  • Is anyone else experiencing a glitch with the gained skills in this game?

I rack up XP to buy skills and after I beat a stage, I start the next stage with an empty skill tree. All that progress is gone. I've searched the web for answers, but I haven't seen anyone else with this problem.

Is your skill tree SUPPOSED to clear when you beat a stage? I thought that would be kind of weird.

  • I was to enamored by the scenery and totally did not notice the tutorial controller on screen!

  • I like my platformers to be more platformer and less puzzle game.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

The first game was great but I have heard this game is a breez. I remember it taking me like 20 trys to clear the last level of Trine 1 - I hope this game can match the first in difficulty.
  • This game remind me of a updated version of The Lost Vikings :)

  • It looks terrible.I hate it
  • I watched this while eating soup
