The lights are on
Feargus Urquhart loves RPGs. As the lead designer on Fallout 2 and one of the founders of RPG-centric Obsidian Entertainment, Urquhart and the rest of the team are not approaching South Park: The Game as a simple licensed title. A lot of thought is going into the challenge of creating a light-hearted experience that's enjoyable for fans of the show but also appeals to fans of Obsidian's deep RPG heritage. We spoke with the CEO of Obsidian Entertainment about how the South Park project began, working with the wildly creative minds of South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, and how the team at Obsidian is approaching the opportunity to create a massive 2D RPG based on one of the most successful animated shows in history.

I'm not looking forward to getting this magazine in the mail. Having South Park on the cover is going to make my family wig out because they hate it so much.
I want this. :)
I'm not that big of a fan of South Park. I'm even less of a fan of Obsidian Entertainment, especially after the train wreck that was Fallout New Vegas.
Please let me kill Kenny *<:D
Can I get an AO rating prediction poll? ;)
im def interested in this game. used to be a huge south park fan and still am a obsidian fan. i could use a little light hearted yet deep rpg adventure
south park RPG is starting to sound pretty dope
That South Park Arcade Game that came out a year ago or two was pretty fun. Hopefully this turns out good.
I can't help but think that this game will be like an Xbox Live Arcade or PSN Game. I'm interested to see how this will be as a full retail game.
I'm now crazy excited for this. I was excited before but after that video I can't wait to play this!!
Definitely intrigued. I also believe that if they somehow manage to mess up the first time, they'll have a second one to fix all the problems. Looking forward to a demo next summer (hopefully).
YES..... YESSSSSSS...... YEEEEESSSSSSSSS
sounds good so far
I have been waiting for a South Park game that hasn't been terrible...
...After seeing this, I probably will be waiting some more.
Don't get me wrong: Obsidian has made some great games and South Park was a funny show. However, underline the past tense of South Park being funny. The show is showing it's age. It seems more about making some political statement than humor. Also: Even with Trey and Matt making the game, how this show can be integrated into a RPG successfully seems unlikely.
I hope I am wrong, but based on past performance and my lack of enthusiasm over South Park, I may just pass on this one.
