Inside The Development Of Halo 4

With Halo 4, the newly-crafted development studio 343 Industries is attempting to build the next great adventure for the legendary Master Chief. We had a chance to visit their office (located in the old Bungie studio) and discuss their approach on how to take the Halo series in a bold, new direction while remaining true to the past 10 years of excellence.

Watch the video below to see studio creative director Josh Holmes and Halo 4 executive producer Kiki Wolfkill share their thoughts on the development of the new Halo trilogy and what 343 Industries has in store for the fans.

  • meh...
  • I can't believe this only has 306 views.
  • That was pretty cool to me. Glad to hear that they're giving every aspect of the Halo universe a good hard look.

  • i see why this bearly has any views since gameinformer made it soo hard to find
  • Nice.  Hopefully, they make it as good as the originals.

  • Did I see this video in a dream?
  • Let's hope 343 will do the series right.

  • I'll remain hopeful, but this feels far...far too soon. Of course, by the time of actual game release it could be long enough. *shrug*
  • Wait really? Her name is Kiki Wolfkill? That's just too ***.
  • Gameinformer, you have made an artform out of talking about Halo 4 while telling us almost nothing.
  • I have hopes for this game, but I still think Microsoft should diversify their portfolio of titles instead of solely relying on the relative few IPs that they are currently juggling.
  • Take your time guys the longer we wait the better it should be.
  • Won't buy it. Had my fill of halo since reach

  • I think it would be interesting to see what it's like for John to experience failure, because he never has. It's one of those things that the books make very clear. He always completes his mission, he always gets it done. I want to know what he would go through when he finally realizes that you can't win them all.
  • Sooo Halo 4 cover next month?!!
  • I hope they make this game as good as the originals.

  • Perhaps the most boring interview I've ever seen on the internet. Still, excited for the fourth installment of Halo though!

  • I am glad they bluntly acknowledged their lack of clear responses at the end. I was beginning to think politicians had infiltrated my game industry.

  • SPOILER ALERT: This video is intensely boring. It's also uninformative in just about every way, so vague it's pointless. I usually love GameInformer.com but this video pwn3d itself. I am a HUGE Halo fanboy and this video was so tedious it actually made me LESS interested in Halo 4. Ouch. The only good thing to come out of it is to learn the woman's name is Kiki Wolfkiller. That is the best dang name in the world. Otherwise, this video was pointless, thank Allah I did other stuff while listening to it, or it would have been a complete waste of nearly a half-hour.
  • Interesting (albeit not very informative) interview. I think 343 Studios may have been better off trying to continue the series without Master Chief.

With a different developer working on the series they should have their own iconic character that fits their studio, as to having to stay light on their feet to not anger the Halo fan base.
