The lights are on
As part of this month's ongoing coverage of our The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Zelda 25th anniversary, we're proud to bring you a video of three goobers talking about the end of Wind Waker in the Game Informer vault. Basically, Jeff Cork, Ben Reeves, and myself drool over the fantastic finale involving Link's sword and Ganon's,.. well, if you haven't seen it just take a few moments to watch this episode of Spoiled.
Oh, and spoilers:
Spout off in the comments below what you though of this game's climax. And if you didn't bother beating it or even picking it up to begin with, tell us why.

Good music is good music. Sounds appropriate to have at your wedding. Think I would like the remix of Terra in Black to be played at mine sometime.
I really don't remember much about that ending. I think the big fight with the Ganandorf monster in Ocarina made more of an impact. First bit of blood I saw in the whole game when he impales his nose like that. I still wonder what happened to Navi after she left through that window without so much as a 'goodbye'...
"Zelda....Wind....I like Zelda." lol
And you guys can't remember the end of Twilight Princess?? C'mon, it was so good, and might I say sad as well.
And as good as the credits music is for Wind Waker, the credits music for TP is even better still. In fact the whole score for Twilight Princess is among the most well-developed game scores I've ever heard; the development of various themes is simply fantastic in that game.
But anyway, yes the end of Wind Waker is super good. And I particularly like the rendition of the Hyrule Castle theme that plays as King Hyrule sends Link and Zelda away and is swallowed by the ocean.
Great game, great series. Great music.
I just found a copy of this game and I am SO GLAD that I did because now I can relive that moment over and over again. THANK YOU ^_^
You people are so spoiled.
i really wish they weren't just on nintendo consoles. i would get one, but its just too much for a console with not many 3rd party games
lol i was one of those people who was pretty mad about the graphics when i first saw link's concept for this game....
i now abhor people who do that l:l
wind waker's one of my three favorite zelda games. i really just love the plot, characters, gameplay, ending, music.... actually i think thats just about everything XD
i suppose the only problem with that game was the enormous amount of time you spent sailing everywhere. i was always able to get up and make lunch, eat it and came back with some time to spare before i got to my destination. but still. great great game :3
BTW; TOONLINK ON SSBB = WIN
Awesome. I never played Windwaker but I feel like I really need to.
this is the one game I most want to play as I was only able to play through a quarter of it before my brothers sold it. this was my first spoiled and I've got to say that it was pretty good, I look forward to more.
Wind Waker has the most relaistic ending to a Legend of Zleda game it was sad that the King died but at least it wasnt a Ganon is dead everything goes back to being peaceful and loving cliche ending. Also putting a sword into Ganon's head what an awesome violent way to end a childish video game.
I also love how Zelda actually helps out in the Ganondorf fight it shows that she is not a completely useless princess. I often find the way Zelda is so helpless sexist.
What made Wind Waker's ending so epic to me was that I made several attempts at playing Wind Waker without ever finishing it (first time I was too anxious to do the stealth mission, second time I didn't want to go through finding all of the triforce pieces). So when I finally played it through completely, I was amazed by this super epic ending! The entire game's sense of adventure was just breathtaking, and the ending did not disappoint. Definitely my favorite LoZ ever!
I played wind waker when i had a GameCube...never finished it because i was a kid and was too stupid to finish any games or keep them. Now I don't have a GameCube or that game anymore. I'm thinking about getting a Wii and Skyward Sword though.
I never got the chance to play Wind Waker for two reasons:
1. We didn't own a GameCube back in the day (man, I feel old by saying that).
2. Even if we did, I wasn't that big of a gamer then as I am now.
Just from hearing the vast amounts of positive responses concerning this game, along with the ending, I'm really wanting to play it. It sounds like something that everyone should experience, whether you're a hardcore fan or not.
The definitive death of Ganon was sick.
that collection of games is sexy!
I am sorry but the ending of Twilight Princess was spectacular. When Midna used her tear to shatter the mirror of twilight, that was just incredible. And stabbing Ganon through the gut and seeing him just stand there and then Zant shows up and snaps his neck....wow....ya. That was an amazing ending....
