Being prepared is the best option going into any apocalypse. Good planning is especially important when the undead are roaming around. Dead Island (read the review here) allows players to dive into an open world brimming with shambling, cannibalistic corpses and choose how they face the threat. There are tons of things to do and creatures to kill on Banoi Island, but we’ve prepared a few tips that will make starting your adventure a smoother experience.

While these are things I would have liked to know going into the game, I still enjoyed learning and discovering things on my own. Remember to have fun and explore.

nice!
I hope that they add a save option soon. Ive lost a total of about 7 hours on the ps3 version because the auto save failed me. I find myself not wanting to turn it back on for the fear of wasting my time. And thats sad because I really do enjoy the game. But I dont want to play the same missions over and over every time I turn it on.
ok Kewl, now i can survive more or maybe twice as long, when im in a life or death situation, the bet ill remember one of these methods will be there... whats the bet haha. =)
Tip number one, don't buy this on PC. That game is dead on arrival.
The closest I've come to playing a zombie game is black ops
The caption for the pic should be " I told you mutha F***as not to do the thriller dance!"
Nice tip list. I plan on getting this game so this article is
Nice tip list. I plan on getting this gam
i already beat the game lol
this is definitly a help for all those starting off, for all this games good parts(which over shadow many other zombie games) there are flaws that people need to consider such as mentioned, including the inexplained parts of the game that this article points out
i do recommend the game, but anyone not familar with zombie games, or gaming in general for that matter, really needs to read this ^_^
I'm finally seeing the advantage of scrambling onto a car's hood or roof. Zombies can still easily reach you up a flight of stairs; for some reason the heigh difference from the ground to a car's hood makes it impossible for most of them to reach you, while letting you flail away at their heads and arms. Makes navigating the city MUCH easier :)
So wait? Destroy the head kill the zombie? 0.o
Is orange better than purple or is it just a rare weapon and what is blue
This is what I do. 1st skill point goes on Fury. The rest go on my health skill tree until i reach the xp multiplier for that character. Then I spend the next point on the middle skill tree. Then I spend all the points on my Fury all the way to the bottom. By then I'm in the city so i just run around and collect a ton of zombies while i stand on a car and just whack away until my Fury fills up. Then I run around until i collect more zombies. 10 or so. even more in some areas of the city. Turn my Fury on and kill all of them and get my Fury multiplier as high as possible and that plus my skill to increase xp = a ton of xp for my leveling up which goes towards my middle skill tree. That's how i have been spending my zombie killing days hahahahaha.
I believe this should be updated. I mean if it's going to be a banner link on your frontpage than you should atleast keep the guide updated..
the game has been patched atleast once but I think twice.. so those issues like weapons disappearing and stuff might not exist anymore.
it's nothing big guess I'm just nit-picking. but yeah I definitely dig this game...
and the only real thing is the save stuff... like sometimes I've gone all the way back to what I know is a safe place like (lighthouse, church)... and exited... but when I load back up I am like in the middle of an area with zombies in striking distance... it doesn't happen always but when it does you die like instantly.. you would think the autosave would trigger when you're in a safe area... because I think it sends you back to whatever quest you have highlighted...
but yeah I mean be smart... I've been playing like 35+ hours on my 2nd playthrough and 4 trophies away from platinum.. pretty sure the last one I get will be the "get all players through Act I" because I have only 1 character so far... but I gotta get "Light My Fire", "The Ram the Ram one with Sam B" and 72/72 places found I guess I missed 2 locations I have 70... I've died like 80 something times maybe... level 37, and I definitely think the Infected are the worst because they just swarm and swarm... and the Butcher cuz he regenerates... but simple shock or paralyzing will pretty much shut anyone down...
and I'm not sure about glitches or anything... but I am pretty sure one of my random CO-OP partners last night was duplicating weapons... because he gave me 3 Deathstalker Zed's Demise that I can't use until level 43.
Soooo much Blood!
I feel like some of this relates to Borderlands..
