The lights are on
We always check our comments to see what games you'd like to see featured in Replay, and this week's selection is one that's been requested many times. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was released on February 28th of 1997, and was met with critical and commercial success. At this early point in the Nintendo 64's life, games were scarce and shooters even moreso. The 64-bit FPS crown was handed over to Goldeneye later that year, but many gamers still have fond memories of raptor murder and awkward platforming. Take a look at the newest edition of Replay below to see how Turok has stood the test of time.

um i'm not going to say first but you should totally choose what i said being conkers bad fur day
this game is awesome.especially with cheat mode.
can you do a Jet Force Gemini replay?
This was actually the first game I had for N64!
This was the first FPS I ever played and the game that cemented my love for the genre. I'll always remember it fondly.
Turok was pretty great, and it really does make me wonder why people complain about pricing, I mean $80-90 was even more than it is today, obviously not by that much, but the value of the dollar decreases with each year.
Yeah Reiner, you reviewed this game. You gave it a 9.5 and called it "the most impressive graphics display on the planet", which it really was at the time in spite of all the fog.
Also, later in the game there were some really long jumps that you couldn't make unless mastered "diagonal jumping" which was explained in the game's manual.
I remember how much N64 games cost. It usually resulted in me borrowing my firend's cartridges instead of buying them myself. I never played Turok. After seeing this, I'm glad I didn't. I would have broken many controllers.
hey im with hellbound i absolutely love get force jemini i played it all the time. it would make a great replay.
I second the request for a Jet Force Gemini replay. I loved Turok, this was a great blast from the past.
Oh, the good ol' days. Turok was also one of the hardest games of that generation.
My only experience with Turok was a demo in a store, and I could not figure it out. But then again, I never really was a FPS fan. Tonic Trouble, on the other hand, looks god-awful.
I loved playing this game back then! *nostalgia*
Anywho, suggesting that you guys play Street Fighter III : Third Strike before EVO hits up, that would be sweet.
You should do Golden Eye.
I still own and play Turok with my neice and nephew.
Never played Turok and seeing this, I don't think I will anytime soon. Nice commentary, though.
I loved Turok. I still remember the master cheat (NTHGTHDGDCRTDTRK). As for a replay I say Jet Force Gemini too. Due to the popularity of 3rd person shooters today, I think Rare needs to make a new Jet Force. I think it could be the think to bring them back.
^ thing*
I would absolutely love to see a Replay featuring Diddy Kong Racing. I logged so many hours into that game!
