The Multiplayer Of Assassin's Creed Revelations

We start our coverage of Revelations with a bang. Our video interview reveals how multiplayer is evolving in the new game.

Andreane Meunier is the Live Team Producer on Assassin's Creed Revelations, which is a fancy way of saying that she helps coordinate all the online features and interactivity that will help Revelations shine. During our recent visit to Ubisoft Montreal, she was kind enough to sit down and share some details about exactly what is changing about the multiplayer experience in Assassin's Creed Revelations.

Like Brotherhood, Revelations' multiplayer mode is a central element of the experience. The cat-and-mouse gameplay concepts that were so popular in Brotherhood will return, but they'll be accompanied by a number of changes that increase flexibility and affect how players interact with the game. There's also an extensive degree of customization and storytelling that has now worked its way into the multiplayer modes.

To learn more, check out our interview with Meunier below.

  • i cant wait for this
  • Well, that certainly revealed a lot.

  • I still believe that the single-player is Assassin's Creed strong point. Multiplayer is nice every now and again, but I just hope they focus on improving the single player experience.
  • Well it seemed that we have reached *puts on sunglasses* a revelation... YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
  • Hopefully they improve on everything they did right in the first, there wasn't too much wrong with the multiplayer, but it didn't feel as deep as I usually feel in multiplayer modes. With the addition of some story and more customization it sounds like they will be doing alot better with drawing you in, though.

  • she's kinda cute :)
  • I'm glad to see the focus on story for multiplayer, I felt like they didn't use that aspect of the game enough last time.

  • My problem with this is then people like me who don't have gold, so no multiplayer, won't be able to see this part of the story. I love stories in video games, they're essential, but for me the adding a story to the multiplayer is a neat idea, I wouldn't be able to experiance this side of the story.
  • Thats cool I'm hoping the story they add to it about the templars and stuff is cool

  • Can't wait to see this game in action @ E3

  • In Brotherhood I only touched the multiplayer twice. I think of the Assassin's Creed games as single player experiences. I just couldn't get into the multiplayer, or rather, it seemed to difficult to keep trying.

  • Curious, a separate multiplayer story based on the online component... more than enough to excite me.

  • I play asassins creed for singleplayer. Please ubisoft...focus more on the single player...

  • *two thumbs up*
  • Ok, here is the problem with Assassins Creed now. First, they announce ANOTHER Ezio game, instead of the finale game. Next, the first interview about the game is multiplayer?!? This series was primarily single player, and AC 2 showed the potential of a single player focus. Brotherhood (which I did have fun wit) obviously lacked the same type of wow factor. Now, here we are without the Desmond game most of us are looking for, and before any single player details are released, we are already showing that the focus is on improving multiplayer. I have a feeling Revelations is going to be a very sub par single player experience. Please, Ubi, prove me wrong.
  • Can't wait to see the single player.

  • I played the multiplayer on Brotherhood, thought it was pretty fun. However, i mostly play it for the singleplayer, so hopefully they won't focus ALL their attention on the multiplayer like Black Ops.

Also, does that lady voice that character with the headphones and is the computer expert in the story mode? They sound extremely similar.

  • She's pretty hot... for a nerd, of course.

  • this game's at the bottom of the list for me....Brotherhood was enough to quench my thirst for assassination for a couple years. I enjoyed the first three, even bloodlines and the one that came out for the DS back in 2008...and having played them all, I refuse to support Ubi anymore for the next couple years. Waaaaay better games coming out than this.
