The lights are on
On this week's show, we take a look back at one of the Gamecube's best games and Nintendo's most surprising franchise reinventions.
Andrew Reiner and Dan Ryckert join me in playing through the first 20 minutes or so of Retro's at-the-time-totally-shocking first-person take on the Metroid formula. Tune in to see how well it holds up and hear plenty of reminiscing about our thoughts on this turn for the series and where we'd like to see it go next.
Oh, and stay tuned after the main show for another Replay Roulette classic.
In the mood for more Replay? Me too. Join me at the Replay hub to see all of our previous episodes.
Hey GI please do a jedi knight 2: jedi outcast replay. The saber combat is amazing as you know, its the first game where a lightsaber truly feels real in your control. Jedi academy was more cartoony and had crap story and characters. So better you stick with outcast. Please do this itll be a great replay for all star wars fans
@Phil Kollar i believe there is another minority report game that follows the plot of the movie a little better (ie: tom cruise likeness was used) and i remember you could kick guys out of buildings and they would fall through the glass in slow motion. i remember having a lot of fun doing that, might be worth a look
Awesome replay. I loved Metroid Prime but was never able to beat the final boss. I hope you eventually go back to do a Super Replay like how you did for Overblood
I remember when I was little-er and brought my Gamecube over my grandma's house when my cousin and I stayed over so we could play Metroid Prime 2. It was only about 4 years back, but that doesn't affect the nostalgia this trilogy gives me..
I have a suggestion if this is where to put them. Little known fighting game called Biofreaks. Think i had on the N64. Thanks for all the replay happiness you fill me with each day GameInformer!
He's got bouncing glass, exploding tables and lobster 24/7?! I wanna be this guy!
XD that was pretty funny
I never liked this game, but it was probably because I was just a child and didn't like the errie atmosphere.
By the way, good job guys. You make it not only nostalgic but entertaining to watch and listen to you.
Next replay should be ratchet and clank. Also a super replay should be xenosaga episode 1.
ahhhh............. but where's my fallout super replay?
The Morph Ball juice and bouncy glass is right next to the headlight fluid and elbow grease at the Store.
I was young when Metroid Prime came out, so i barely got into it, but after watching this I really want to try it out again.
I watched my dad play almost all (if not all) of this game when I was way younger.
It was so weird. I thought it was so beautiful, but so creepy. Especially the menu screen with the biological germ tentacle looking things. The whole world was so pretty but so... Lonely? Really eerie and vast and empty sometimes. Hard to explain, but I liked watching him play it. I should really run through it myself sometime.
