The lights are on
Dynasty Warriors has quickly become one of the biggest and most frequently-appearing franchises in all of gaming. Given its popularity and continued success, Reiner and I decided we should take a look at the latest title in the series, even if it's something we don't entirely understand.
Watch below to see the changes that have come to this latest version of Dynasty Warriors -- including some stupidly large weapons (and I mean that in a good way) -- and to hear Reiner and I fail at basic knowledge of Asian history and pronunciation. If you happen to be a Dynasty Warriors fan, definitely leave a comment talking about why you love the series! We're curious!
Reiner and Phil FTW!
Dynasty Warriors rules!Nuff Said.
Reiner and Phil segments could be the greatest thing to come from this website, I could watch these all day, the way you guys interact with each other is hilarious.
Best thing about this one is 6 had less that the previous games and this one actually some added feature and gameplay. Which 6 the first ps3 one, took characters and gameplay out. Also there's a Warriors of Troy game out or coming out. And there's a Lu Bu and Liu Bei. Lu Bu is in Black and Liu Bei is in green. This game for me is just simple fun and you def get your moneys worth.
Sometimes I just want to kill 10-20 people in one swing of my weapon.
As always, good episode! :)
I played Dynasty Warrios 2 with a friend back in the day, and we had a blast with it. Then he got Dynasty Warriors 3 when that came out, which was basically the same game. ...Then 4.
Honestly though, it's not a horrible series, and it's fun to play with someone else, but I agree that it's pretty much the same game every time.
With that said, I may look into this one in the future if I can get someone to play with.
I really don't know what it is that makes me play them. What really got me into it was when me and my friend did co op on 3 I believe. Split screen, it was really fun just to dominate the battlefield. I really enjoyed it. They seem to add one new element each game too. I'm hoping they release a next gen game that does blow people away though.
Btw there's Liu Bei and Lu Bu. Lu Bu is the "strongest" warrior in the land and eventually has to fight all 3 kingdoms in 6. They change the story a LITTLE each game too. Not much at all. It's the exact same thing.
I never played these games, and they don't seem like my type of games...thanks for the look, though...
There is a Lu Bu in the game guys, there's actually an achievement related to it. It's totally understandable that you'd forget it though, there are soooo many dagnab characters in that game.
DW 4 was the only game I played in this series and I remember getting into it initially due to the empowerment, but then I became overwhelmed by the repetition. Looks like little has changed since 4.
I really like the first two mainly because of the sheer murder in the game and few had that amount of death at that point. Didn't pick up another until 6 which I truly played to death. They really added variety to a few battles which made them fun. There was a castle, fan castle or something, that had some traps(fire, arrow, and a moving belt). Also, there was a ship battle where there was some cool stuff like lighting ships on fire. I truly loved the ability to play both sides of the fight and it added some variety to the battles in six. Very fun.
Waiting for Empires. Obviously. It better happen.
