The lights are on
Popping in an old game and talking about our memories is always fun, and that's why it's a blast doing Replay every week. However, some games are so iconic that a simple 20-minute episode just wouldn't do them justice. That's why we're presenting Super Replay, a feature in which we play through the entirety of an all-time great. No edits, no skipped stages, no speeding-up the video...this is the entire game experience, beginning to end.
Naturally, the first game I wanted to do was my favorite game of all time - 1992's Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. This SNES legend perfected the Zelda formula, and many of its conventions are still used today in the series' Wii and DS entries. Take a look below for our Super Replay of Zelda: Link to the Past.

niiice....i have this for an emulator on my droid ..hehehehe
they look more like goombas to me.
I've learned from these videos that Dan loves Alanis Morissette, that cinnamon is delicious, something something Deku Tree and red wine. This was the most enjoyable five hours I've ever spent watching someone play Zelda. I really loved this!
I LOVE REPLAYS!
Thought this was great. One of my favorite games of all time played by a very good player and some interesting dialog to boot. Good interaction while playing games is one of the things I loved about college life...now I never get together with friends to play games and just talk nonsense. You should have a contest where the winner gets to participate in a Super Replay with you.
Side note 1: Just like Dan I always want to have the boomerang active unless I must use something else for a specific task.
Side note 2: My wife insists on putting cinnamon on applesauce, but I prefer it plain as long as it is the chunky variety. I bet the great deku tree would prefer it plain as well.
It was fun eating my cinnamon toast crunch while watching this entire series. You should do a replay with you beating the Deku Tree from Ocarina of Time.
so what happens when you put the cinnamon dust on a deku tree
it sure is nice to watch this one agian. it was a good day. all this zelda talk made me think of the maku tree in ages/seasons. and how common talking trees are in video games. i think ocarina also had a talking tree but i forget what it was called... i've been eating pie while watching this super replay, apple pie, sweet potato pie, and some other pie that has some kind of spice in it that is really quite delicious. i'm not sure what it is, but i think it would also make a good additive for coffee. i'm not really a fan of coffee though. i'm not really a pie guy either. I'll take a cake over a pie any day... well anyway, good job on the first super replay, Dan.
Is 2013 too late to be enjoying cinnamon?
The deku tree in my backyard has cinnamon seeds. They are so tasty.
i like it cinnamon on toast better
Cinnamon and the Deku Tree, still relevant 3 years later! Super Replays have been one of the best elements of the website since this!
little known fact that Ben gave us. If you run into the dedu tree 34 times it gives you a cinnamon stick. i'm pretty sure its as accurate as the rest of his facts
Greatest game of all time and the best way to have started off Super Replay! Like eating a warm cinnamon roll in a hammock under the shade of the Deku tree!
I forgot how much I liked cinnamon. Thanks for the reminder, guys!
These old SR and way different then the newer ones, so many good games.
