Gears of War 3 features female protagonists for the first time. Meet the first of them – Anya Stroud, the lone female member of Delta Squad.

Players of the Gears franchise know Anya, but they likely remember her in a different role. For two previous games she's served as the voice over the radio, advising Marcus and the rest of the team on their next objective. Hard times have forced her to armor up with her fellow soldiers, and take the fight to the front lines.

It looks like the new Anya is modeled after Pink, with the hair style and the more manish figure. I wonder if Pink get her work out from fighting Lambents.

I love her style from 1 and 2, and the in-game screenshots she looks great too... but not feelin' the concept art there. I'm a huge fan of chicks with short hair but that pic is just meh.

Hopefully they put Alex(from the comics) in and if theres another maybe carmines sister (hopefully not annoying and whing like the last 2 im glad they died lol). but if you've never read the comics i suggest doing so there very well written and illustrated , if you do you can become acquainted with Jayson Stratton the other new character. they just released a graphic novel type book with issues 1-11 in it and i dont think its too expensive maybe 10$.
