The lights are on
Look, up in the air! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...a bunch of disgruntled editors playing one of the worst video games ever created. In our recurring exploration of all the old games packed into Game Informer's vault, it was inevitable that we attempt to take on Superman 64, one of the most infamous development disasters of all time.
So is it really as bad as everyone says? Did I actually spend a whole day playing the first level over and over in order to unlock the level select? Will anyone laugh at my "You will believe a man can fly" joke? Join me, Tim Turi, Andrew Reiner, and Joe Juba as we dust off the N64 and submit ourselves to 20 minutes of torture just for you. And be sure to stay tuned after the main feature for a look at the earlier adventures of Clark Kent in Replay Roulette.

Wow, Superman 64 definitely lives up to its legend of abject suckiness.
I remember G.I. saying something like "Titus dropped a load of kryptonite in Superman's shorts" back around the time the game came out.
I literally put my hands up in victory when I saw this.
And everyone else in the room looked at me with a "wtf" expression.
I will admit though, I did enjoy the multiplayer.
The characters flew around in weird jet things, and you moved so fast sometimes, that you could easily pass up your opponents.
I think I may watch this 500 times.
Love it when you guys purposely play horrible games!
yea this game sucked big time back in the day
This was seriously painful to watch. What a horrific game haha. I love the Descent reference by Reiner though. Right when you guys starting playing that multiplayer level it immediately reminded me of Descent.
Both games sucked. I am still waiting for conker.
WOW that looks terrible
Lol nice replay. Im glad i missed out on this abomination. But one thing that shouldn't have been missed would be Conkers Bad Fur Day, lol sry if i keep requesting this game but u absolutely have to replay this, this game was amazing.
Wow. I'd heard how bad that Superman 64 was, but now that I've seen it...wow.
Kudos to you guys for playing that god-awful game, I remember renting it as a kid and being utterly dissapointed, lol
love the replays
Since we're talking about Superman, what about Blizzard's "The Death and Rebirth of Superman?" One of their forgotten classics, and as far as I'm concerned the only quality Superman game in existence.
I would also once again suggest "Starfox Adventures" or Bungie's "Oni"
Honestly anyone that was able to get themselves to beat Superman 64 deserves a good superman game, as they put more time and effort into beating the game than the developers put into making it.
wow, never had any idea how truly bad Superman 64 was. heard about it, but never saw it. i would also like to submit (again) the game Werewolf for the NES for a future replay. it sounds generic, but seriously, best music ever.
I rarely play superhero games unless if it's Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Marvel vs Capcom. Otherwise than that, not really a fan(Except for X-Men in the arcade)
wow... really glad I never play either of those!
Haha, that was fantastic. I can say that I have never played a Superman game. Seeing these makes me glad I haven't.
"This game is worse than Superman—aghh!"
A game has become worse than itself. Classic :)
