The lights are on
Every so often, while browsing GI's massive vault, I stumble across games that helped define my childhood but that I had somehow forgotten about completely. Blaster Master for NES was just one such game. Radioactive pet frogs? A powerful tank that also jumps? What else could a kid ask for?
Join myself, Matt Miller, Andrew Reiner, and Jeff "The Fav" Marchiafava in looking back to see how well this game that I have such fond memories of has held up. The full video (including a bonus Replay Roulette) is below.

I remember playing this Baster Master with my buddy when we were kids it rocked then and it still does.
It was "unintentionally" funny, this week. Whenever you guys were playing blaster master, whoever kept saying "nice" whenever the person playing dodged something or made a simple jump to the next platform cracked me up. That reminds me of my earlier days in gaming when my sister would watch me play and I would get past something she couldn't. It's the simple things in life.
Ok, if were looking for old school quality, I suggest Aladdin for the Sega. I prefer it to the Nintendo version of Aladdin. At least, I felt that it looked & sounded better. Also, there was a combination of Action and Platforming, as opposed to the 'Play it safe' Nintendo version that was pretty much platforming.
Disney used to make such good games. Then again, I felt the movies were better then as well.
Awesome. That opening scene always freaked me out as a kid.
I agree with JimJastaJay, Aladdin for Genesis was a really great game. I played that game a lot as a kid and always get a kick out of firing up my Genesis emulator and playing it from time to time.
All of these episodes are hilarious, keep up the good work.
and Hey! I think It's time for a replay of E.T. :)
Blastcorps (I think that's the name) for the N64
The World Is Not Enough for the N64
Die Hard Trilogy for the PS1
Independence Day for the PS1 (lol)
i had the blaster master book. also had ninja gaiden and metal gear.i think renegade, river city ransom,or battletoads for the nes need to be replayed.you should also do night trap for sega cd.now thats comedy
I used to love this game!
hell yeah, i loved blaster master, except i could never get past the *** 5th level
Blaster Master looks kind of interesting. I somehow missed that game entirely, possibly because it didn't have Mario or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in it.
In a future Replay you should share the awesomeness that is the Sega Saturn. I recommend Panzer Dragoon Zwei or Guardian Heroes.
Good as always.
i would like to thank the staff at GI for this program. i really enjoy it. that being said i have a question. in last episode's (mk mythologies) comments i suggested that you should do this game. be honest this episode was made for me right? lol jk thanks for continueing to put these out.
They just put Perfect Weapon on PSN you guys should play that. i dont know if it was really hard or if i just sucked cause i could never get past the first fight.
I put lotta hours into blaster master. I remember being pretty satisfied when i finally beat it.
milons secret castle.pretty please?blaster master is my fav nes title of all time.i read the book too it brings back old memories.incidently the reason why no1 played it was becouse it was realesed right around the sweet spot on the nes, marios, zeldas ect.that combined with almost no advertising killed its chance at being a franchise.but seriously do milons secret castle,we desperatly need to see you fail.
Are you guys going to play Game Boy games? If so, I think you should play Wario Land 2.
