The lights are on
Every so often, while browsing GI's massive vault, I stumble across games that helped define my childhood but that I had somehow forgotten about completely. Blaster Master for NES was just one such game. Radioactive pet frogs? A powerful tank that also jumps? What else could a kid ask for?
Join myself, Matt Miller, Andrew Reiner, and Jeff "The Fav" Marchiafava in looking back to see how well this game that I have such fond memories of has held up. The full video (including a bonus Replay Roulette) is below.

I have a picture of Miller in my living room too, Phil!!
PLAY BROKEN HELIX
One of the first games I EVER PLAYED.
Those TV things were fun to destroy.
I used to play this game nonstop.
It was like interactive micro machines. lol
I played Blaster Master back in the day, and now it actually looks more fun to me.
You guys -have- to do Raw Danger for the PS2 next!
replay is such a great way to de-stress and enjoy some classic, well-respected gaming
mdk 2 for dreamcast would be cool. but wild 9 first say!
REPLAY SUPER DODGEBALL!!!! The most fun game of all time!!!!
Lol @ Superman 64. There was also a game, "Aiden Chronicles" I think... I just remember it getting a .5 in the magazine. Something that bad is burned into my memory, even without ever so much as seeing the box containing that abomination.
+1 for Blaster Master. Go pick it up!
For those pointing it out -- not all the Replays are meant to be super-hilarious. We tend to keep things light-hearted, but instead of just doing crappy games that are so bad they make us laugh, we also want to take time to look at games that were genuinely good and talk about why we have nostalgia for them. But that's also why we have the Roulette there for some laughs.
@Follower of Kane: I'M SO GLAD I'M NOT ALONE.
So can we take that as official confirmation that you guys are doing SHATTERHAND for the NES next episode? That game most certainly does not suck and there has got to be SOMEONE at GameInformer who has nostalgia for that game.
space... channel... 5. please?
Master Blaster looked pretty cool, the other game not so much.
As usual, an enjoyable replay to watch. I've never played this game only heard of it in passing.
