The lights are on
For this week’s Replay we dive into 1991’s genre mash-up Actraiser. Combining town management aspects and 2D side-scrolling action, the game offers a glimpse back to a time when games were less restricted to specific genres. Join Joe Juba, Tim Turi, Ben Reeves, and Replay newcomer Bryan Vore as they reminisce on this 16-bit classic.

Not familiar with either of the titles in this episode, but great fun to watch.
Throw it back to Umjammer Lammy.
Wait...Robot Alchemic Drive for PS2.
umm duck hunt!!!
Good stuff. Keep it coming.
Thanks GI. But what a sad bunch of gamers on this website... Of all the Replays so far, this is considered the best game among classic gamers... and yet it has by far the lowest views and comments. It's a joke when twice as many people view Jaws Unleashed. I guess if it wasn't a game with big mainstream success, the gamers on this site can't appreciate it.
But anyways, here's some of my suggestions of other great games for Replay:
Tomba! or NIGHTS into Dreams would make for amazing classic Replays. (...but again, can the gamers on here handle a legitimate classic without a shark or Star Wars in the title?)
For them, I recommend a Replay of the Zelda and/or Mario games for the CD-i. Humor and a history lesson rolled into one.
And Superman 64. I agree with many other people on here that it would make for a great Replay. If would be great to see how that one has aged.
I'm all about old school games, but god- that looks terrible.
You guys should replay Super Contra for the SNES on the hardest mode.
I've never heard of actraiser... but i looked pretty fun
Never played Actraiser, but isn't it one of those games that is actually worth something now?
Die Hard Trilogy, I remember having so much fun on with that game. That would be great
you should totally do a replay of duke nukem forever. wait, what?! i got cancelled!!!??? but it's been in production for, like, ever!
alright, never mind. (agitated sigh)
Hey i noticed you guys talkin about Dark Cloud! I loved that series..it was so unique for what it was...I think it would be a good one to do on Replay as well. lol.
I loved Actraiser, the music, the difficulty, it was awesome. Spent lots of hours with it until I finish it. This is truly a classic. I loved the SNES era.
In Incredible Crisis's opening cinematic one of the hilighted parts of the game is SPEED. Yeah, there was DEFINITELY a LOT of speed involved with that game.
I was only 3 when this came out so I didn't get to play it till later. Thanks Replay for the memories.
I used to always play this game with my friend.
I'm gonna go have to get the Wii download now
I always remember that The kid that disappears in bloodpool is named Teddy and that is my name that really blew my mind as a kid lol.
I got to try this game.
Beat 'em up + adventure + RTS = Brutal Legend
