The lights are on
Most everyone that played Twisted Metal 1 and 2 back in the day has
fond memories of them. Their cartoonish brand of mayhem and sick sense
of humor resulted in great sales numbers and an enthusiastic fanbase,
before 989 Studios took over and tarnished the series' good name. It
may have experienced a great rebirth via Twisted Metal: Black on the
PS2, but the original Playstation titles by Singletrac laid the
groundwork for all subsequent car combat titles (a genre that's been
sorely underrepresented in recent years).
In this new segment we
utilize our extensive vault to play through each PSone Twisted Metal
title in order, and even try out the vehicular combat experiments
Singletrac developed after losing the franchise name. Do the original
classics hold up over a decade later? Are 3 and 4 as bad as we remember
them being? Does Tim Turi fail miserably in his attempt to blow up the
Eiffel Tower? The answer to the last question is yes. Check out the
video below to relive the 32-bit vehicular combat experience.

this game is a classic . i cant wait for the new version to come out .
Great memories with this game. I really like the 'Replay' section, please keep working on these. There are a great number of classic games that can be re-visited and shared in this format.
i had the 1st one, and id just jump rooftop 2 rooftop on the last level when i was about 6
Twisted Metal Black is one of my favorite games ever and i used to have a shitload of fun with the old ones. I wish they would hurry up and make a TMB2 for the PS3. These games are wicked fun
The first one was the best, followed by Black. I didn't like 2 at all, though I thought 3 was pretty good.
Thanks for showing this, watching you guys play TM1 and 2 brought back classic PS1 memories!
aahh the days of car combat. i loved the original twisted metal and the second one. never got to play the next 2 that came out and from what id heard i didnt want to :P. twisted metal black brought it all home again. :D and my favorite four-wheeled mayhem game was and still is rock and roll racing for the SNES.
That was great really cool to look back at those games. When I was a kid my friends and I would play twisted metal all the time it's one of the great memories from my childhood I won't forget. As for some other games you can do are Legacy of Kain or Syphon Filter.
Bitchin wheels looks like Courtney Love
So thats how Andrew sounds like.....I
Why don't you guys go back and replay the old contra series?
I remember buying my PSOne and I got a handfull of games with it, Warhawk, Twisted Metal, Demolition Derby, and Loaded.
For your next segment, Loaded or Demolition Derby would be cool.
could probably pick this up for 2 bucks at game stop... good deal
Great video...great memories as well. I would love for a new twisted to Come out for Xbox 360/PS3 for online combat. Also anyone who is a fan of the Twisted Metal, you guys should check out old computer games.. Carmageddon 1 & 2.
I enjoyed this a lot, and I never even played Twisted Metal. But I would love for there to be a Metal Gear Solid retrospective, or Half Life (including it's popular mods and like counter-strike and such) and one of Legend of Legaia
I've never owned Twisted Metal, I only played friends' versions. If I ever get a PSP Head On will probably be one of the first games I get.
Can't wait until the next Replay. Keep it up.
haha nice brings back memories 2 is still what this series will be remembered for especially the eifle tower stage
Of course the originals still hold up after a decade. TM is still one of my fave franchises. The original TM is no. 1 on my list, but I never really liked TM2 (they messed up Roadkill). My TM3 disc is so scretched up I can't even play it but it's prolly the worst of the series, however TM4 is not bad at all, I enjoyed that one very much. Now where is that "new" TM that was promised for PS3 in the TM:Lost game's hidden massage?
BTW you guys (in the vid) suck at playing this game. :P
