The lights are on
Most everyone that played Twisted Metal 1 and 2 back in the day has
fond memories of them. Their cartoonish brand of mayhem and sick sense
of humor resulted in great sales numbers and an enthusiastic fanbase,
before 989 Studios took over and tarnished the series' good name. It
may have experienced a great rebirth via Twisted Metal: Black on the
PS2, but the original Playstation titles by Singletrac laid the
groundwork for all subsequent car combat titles (a genre that's been
sorely underrepresented in recent years).
In this new segment we
utilize our extensive vault to play through each PSone Twisted Metal
title in order, and even try out the vehicular combat experiments
Singletrac developed after losing the franchise name. Do the original
classics hold up over a decade later? Are 3 and 4 as bad as we remember
them being? Does Tim Turi fail miserably in his attempt to blow up the
Eiffel Tower? The answer to the last question is yes. Check out the
video below to relive the 32-bit vehicular combat experience.

before the burnouts and full autos we had twisted metal.... cheers to the classics
Never understood why some people liked these so much, but to each their own.
i did have a PS2 but I remember going over my friends house just to play it
This was made epic by the french and the weiner action.
My memories of twisted metal are kinda hazy though,as I never actually owned the games myself but just played for a while when I'd visit my cousin. The only PS1 Twisted Metal I can say I ever had myself though was Twisted Metal 4 sadly, which I recieved by my neighbor giving it to me for free to just get rid of it.
As for future replays...
Crash Bandicoot,Spyro, and Jet Force Gemini are some that come to mind.
We're excited about doing more of these. In fact, we're working on one today for next week. Any suggestions?
i still have all the ps1 twisted metal games, great times
anyway some good games for this show would be the medal of honor series, the first was good back in the day but now its almost unplayable
you guys forgot to play twisted metal small brawl the one where kids used rc cars it was like a micro machines twisted metal game
Jet Moto? Bushido Blade? Pilotwings?
Between my twitter and this comment section, that is the third request for Bushido Blade.
I loved the Twisted Metal games back in the day. I didn't think 3 was too bad, though 4 kinda sucked; Black was great though. I downloaded Twisted Metal 2 off PSN and played it with a buddy and it was still a blast. I would love a next gen version of the game complete with vehicle creation/customization, online play/rankings, and maybe even a level creator/editor.
Some people just have good taste. ;)
This will be a great series. The episode gave me the biggest nostalgia trip I have had in years. Oh the memories of these games with friends...
Oh memories.... I actually always liked Vigilante 8 more than Twisted Metal, the second V8 was awesome. That could use a remake
I really want to play Twisted Metal Black again. that was my favorite.
I loved Twisted Metal when it came out. I hope they make a new one with online multiplayer.
yea i love this article showing many things
I miss games like Twisted Metal and Vigilante 8....
i used to love this game, i would play it all the time
Oh wow, I think I actually owned that Rogue Trip game. I didn't remember it until I saw that wiener mobile car.
