The Game Informer Vault

Often called Game Informer’s Library of Congress, the Vault is hands-down the best part of the office. With over 11,000 games currently stored inside and still growing, it really is a sight to behold that each and every editor shows off with nerdy pride. As part of our 200th issue celebration, we’re finally unbolting the locks and giving you the full reveal of everything inside. Above you will find a full, one gigabit interactive 3D image that now only allows you to look around on your own, but zoom in to see just part of our huge collection. To the right and immediately below, we’ve compiled some pretty cool stats and broken down the totals by platform. And finally below, you will find a full, HD video tour with Executive Editor Andrew Reiner and Media Editor Nick Ahrens. They take a walk through the entire collection and point out just some off the coolest items inside. So what are you waiting for? Click the magic link below and start exploring. Note to users, there is no commenting on the special edition Vault page so this is your place to sound off.

  • Hope to have a collection like that someday....

  • Wow... so how old do you have to be, to work for game informer?

  • dang, that amazing

  • wow best feature i have ever seen on this website. That is one heck of a collection.

  • I thought the vault was just a saying, now I know. That is really cool. I'm glad they answered the question what someone does if the vault has a wrapped copy and someone needs to play it because that was my biggest question.

  • Zomg you guys have more 360 games than PS3 games!  No wonder you're so biased!

On a serious note, that's an impressive amount of games.  Do you guys happen to have totals for genres and what one you have the most games of?

  • omg, that's like my retro heaven....i wanna work there to (ToT)

  • this collection makes me so jealo... ugh, happy for you!

  • I miss Working Designs and want to know what PSone game is in the black box on your shelf from them.

  • It is so beautiful {::D:::

  • Friggan silverlight won't work on my pc. :(

    Anyways, I was dumbfounded.

  • ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........................

wait, there are actually games on the Gizmondo in the vault.

  • Dang, thats a lot of games. Wish I had that many, I was surprised to note that you didn't have any Atari 2600 titles, but then again, Gameinformer wasn't around in the 2600's heyday.

  • So, when are you auctioning this stuff off? :)

    I totally envy you, GI.

  • I've often heard tell of the 'The Vault' over the years reading Game Informer and really appreciate the tour! Wow! I could get lost for hours in there just looking at all those great, (and not so great), games. I literally gasped when you pulled out Shadwrun for the Genesis. Played that game to death during my 2nd year at junior college, along with the pnp game too. Wish I still had it. =(

Keep up the great work guys, and if you ever need a hand sorting out all those games you know where to find me. =P

  • thats a lot of games...

  • AS the bunny from Gamestop would say

    "HOLY (BLING)"

i bet you all can figure out what comes after the BLING.

For current gen systems, the Vault is gaming heaven...that is if you are an Xbox 360 owner. PS3 owner like me who wish to play many of the multi-platform titles are out of luck, as publishers usually only send out 360 version of the game to our office. Some titles I wanted play like Beatles Rock band, Riddick's Dark Athena, Half Life Orange Box are not available.
