Hendrix Passes On Guitar Hero Wii Due To Limitations

f any of you Wii-owning Guitar Hero fans have been itching to rock out to some Jimi Hendrix tunes, you are in for a disappointment. Via the MTV Multiplayer blog we learned that Wii owners won’t be getting the Hendrix tracks promoted earlier this year, due to both licensing and technical restrictions. An Activision Blizzard contact spoke to MTV Multiplayer, confirming the news below.

“Due to technical or licensing restrictions, the DLC offerings will not be the same for every console platform,” explained the Activision Blizzard representative. “For example, certain artists prefer to keep the integrity of the track pack rather than releasing singles and the Wii’s infrastructure only allows us the ability to release single songs as DLC.”

Turns out the Hendrix tunes are one of those that must be offered as part of a track pack. Because Hendrix’s people aren’t budging, the DLC has been removed from the queue.

We have a feeling this won’t be the last time Nintendo fans miss out because of the Wii Store’s infrastructure.
