Darwinia+ Officially Announced For Arcade

fter it was recently leaked on the ESRB’s ratings site, developer Introversion has decided to go ahead and make it official: Darwinia is heading over to Xbox Live Arcade sometime this summer, fantasy violence and all. The release will bundle the original game and the upcoming multiplayer game Multiwinia: Survival of the Flattest in a single release called Darwinia+. If you’ve been playing Darwinia on the PC since its 2005 release and have been looking forward to taking on human opponents with your army of flat, polygonal defenders, fear not—Multiwinia will be available separately on the PC when it’s released.

At any rate, the company seems to be stoked to tap into the console market. “When we first started Introversion back in 2001, the idea of developing our games for a console seemed an impossible challenge, and whilst we have built a fantastic community around our PC games, and will continue to support that, it has always been our dream to take the next step and produce a console title,” said Introversion’s Victoria Arundel on the company’s forums.
