Sega Announces Superstars Tennis

ega Europe today announced a new tennis game that combines classic Sega characters with fast-paced, arcade-style tennis action. Sega Superstars Tennis will feature more than 15 playable characters, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Monkey Ball’s AiAi, Space Channel 5’s Ulala and Amigo from Samba De Amigo. Levels will fit the theme, including such well-known video-game vistas as Green Hill Zone and others. It’s set for a 2008 release on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS, and is being developed by Sumo Limited, the developer behind the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Tennis.

“Sega Superstars Tennis delivers a fun and fresh new take on tennis,” said Rick Naylor, Director of Marketing for SEGA of America. “From its pick-up-and-play arcade action to its exciting roster of fan-favorite characters and settings, Sega Superstars Tennis has something for everyone.”
