MMORPG 2Moons’ Closed Beta Goes Live

losed beta has begun 2Moons, a new fantasy MMORPG from the rejuvenated Acclaim and the mind of David Perry, founder of Shiny Entertainment. The game, for players 17 and older, promises brutal violence and pick-up-and-play arcade action for PC gamers. It’s also available to download and play at no cost, featuring scaling levels of in-game advertising. Players can choose to see no ads, if they wish. As an incentive to see advertisements, players can receive funding for items and their characters will level up faster.

“I’ve made a lot of games over the years,” says Perry, the game’s director. “There’s no doubt that by the time we’re done, 2Moons will have really earned it’s ‘Most Edgy MMORPG’ accolade. The Beta testers will be able to see all the new features getting added over time.  They’ll also be able to help us craft this into a game they each personally love.”

Acclaim expects the invitation-only closed beta to last several weeks, at which point open beta begins. If players would like to participate in beta testing, they should register at www.2MoonsGame.com. E-mail invitations will be sent to applicants on a first come, first served basis.

As a special promotion, Acclaim is also giving players the opportunity to become part of the actual game. Would-be voice actors can lend their talents by providing voices for several in-game characters. Acclaim will choose winners and put those voices into the completed game.
