hile the GameCube had a prolonged death in 2006, the Nintendo DS flourished and the Wii’s revolution was born. 2007 should be an interesting year for the “Big N.” With Mario, Metroid and Paper Mario hitting Nintendo’s new console, and Zelda primed for DS, Nintendo gamers will be quite busy. However, the big question about all of these titles is “when?” Even though Reggie says there will be a constant flow of titles, Nintendo historically has spread their hits thin year after year. Time will tell when these games will land, but regardless of when, it’s going to be a big year for Nintendo.

Wario’s ADD mini-game fiesta is heading to the Wii in early 2007, and from the looks of it, Smooth Moves is shaping up to be a fantastic addition to the series. Smooth Moves marks the fifth appearance of WarioWare on Nintendo consoles, and the Wii version is set to be as wacky as ever. Over 200 mini-games will pepper Smooth Moves, and new and old cast members will be on hand as well. You better get your Miis all set, because the Miis in your arsenal will take part in the madness, too.

Smooth Moves utilizes handling the Wii-mote and nunchuck in a variety of ways, including in front of you, pressed up against your nose and as if you were pulling it toward you. Could Nintendo add mini-games with WiiConnect24? Wii can only hope!

Basically, everyone outside of us in North America got this mini-game grouping at launch, and in February (cough, now delayed from January), Wii Play will be released for the masses. The $50 package will include Wii Play and a Wii-mote, and with all the multiplayer mayhem packed in Wii Play, it’s going to be good to have some extra controllers handy.

Wii Play consists of nine mini games, including Shooting, Billiards, Tanks, Charge!, Find Mii, Pose Mii, Fishing, Table Tennis and Laser Hockey. While it’s going to be nice to do something with our Miis outside of sports, we have to admit that the Duck Hunt inspired Shooting is what we’re looking forward to the most. Now the big question is: can we actually shoot Miis?
