Castlevania: PoR Preorder Bonus Undeniably Awesome

onami today announced that consumers who pre-order Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin for DS at Gamestop, EB Games and GameCrazy locations nationwide will receive, at the time of purchase, a limited edition box set containing items that document the history of the franchise. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of Castlevania, the bonus comes in a wax-sealed box and includes the following items:

• Art Book: This 48 page book details the artwork of every game in the Castlevania series and features an embossed cover.

• 20th Anniversary Soundtrack CD: Spanning 20 years of music that has defined the Castlevania series, this soundtrack contains songs from nearly every Castlevania game ever made, including four never before released tracks from Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

• Stylus and DS Game Case: Extendable stylus and transparent game case are both emblazoned with the Castlevania logo.

• Timeline Poster: Detailing key events and characters in the history of Castlevania, this fold-out poster features a timeline on the front and a Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin poster on the back.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is set to release on December 5. Though Konami claims that the preorder bonus will be provided at no extra cost, the game will cost $39.99 at participating preorder retailers while most other chains are selling the game at $34.99.

New information on Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin has been scarce since the first playable demo all the way back at E3. But now Konami’s ripping the lid off of it. Our demo began with the very first look at PoR’s snazzy anime intro, which we aren’t allowed to show. But to make up for it, we have an all-new trailer and plenty of direct feed of the game in action.

We spoke with Castlevania main man Koji Igarashi at Comic-Con and got the full scoop on the upcoming Portrait of Ruin for DS. For a while now the art that we’ve seen for the game has been based on materials compiled for a Nintendo Power cover.
